This happened not long after I left, Todd P, SXSW - Mar 15, 2007 (CRED)
Spank Rock @ SXSW

I came so close to seeing Spank Rock so many times at SXSW this year. One time was when he played the late night Todd P party (see above). I was there, but got too tired and left before he went on. Another time was at the Iheartcomix party at Blue Genie that got shut down an hour after starting. The cops kept me from Spank Rock that time. A third time was a party at the Scoot Inn that I just ended up not going to, AND I sort of tried to get Spank Rock to play both of my day parties, but that just didn't work out....SO, I'm gonna try not to miss his show May 15th at the new 800-capacity Highland Ballroom in the Meatpacking District in NYC. Tickets are on sale. The only other show he has right now is April 29th @ Coachella. No tour dates below.

$22 for a fucking spank rock show? a little pricey, considering winehouse tickets at the same venue were $20. and they're not even that exciting as performers... just buy the cd my friends. same experience as seeing them live.

saw Spank Rock at northsix last year. They were AMAZING live. One of the most fun shows I've ever seen.

I saw Spank Rock open for Gnarls Barkley at Webster (I think) and wasn't all that impressed. I liked the music and the dancers were fun, but while I'd certainly get to a show early if I knew he was opening, I can't say I'd pay to see him headline.

I would recommend the CD, though.

it probably goes without saying, but Pase Rock is performing at Coachella with him.

saw Spank Rock open for Gnarls Barkley, and I wasn't impressed at all.

But then saw Spank at 3rd Ward at the end of the summer and then again in the fall at NorthSix. Both were sooo much fucking fun. AMAZING both of these times.

I was also at the show above. Fun because it was 4:30am behind an Amtrack station, and he performed to the 35 people who were still there.
