Despite the heavy rain, people (like the NY Times) showed up to Mercury Lounge to see Cloud Cult's (and Young Galaxy's) second of two NYC shows on Sunday.

Cloud Cult

What’s next for Cloud Cult?
"We’ll keep flowing, keep going. We’ve got a DVD planned, partly from the live shows and also sort of a really good biography of the individual band members and what’s touring like and what we do at home. Then we’ll be working on finishing the next new album and another national tour in the fall. As for the DVD, we did the video for “Chemicals Collide” ourselves, all the taping and editing, and there was a really great reaction to that, so we’ll be keeping all the video stuff in house. We really prefer to just do things on our own." [Craig Minowa to the Washingtonian]

Here's some pictures of Cloud Cult playing Tonic. Here's some pictures of them at SXSW. More here.

I'd like to add that the first band on the bill, Exit Clov, has a very, very bright future ahead of them. Remember their name.

Agreed. Exit Clov was surprisingly good.

I went to the 1st Cloud Cult show at Mercury and it was great - they played a nice 16-song set (closing with "Take Your Medicine" which is just such a great song), and then decided to reward us for selling out the gig days in advance by playing 3 more songs and closing with "You Are My Sunshine".

There was this dude who was totally wasted by the stage (literally like Phil from Wayne's World) who I had to tell to fuck off, but otherwise it was an amazing show.

Didn't care for Young Galaxy, although Exit Clov were interesting (even though twins kind of scare me).

That NYT guy was a real dick. pushing people and getting in the way. I understand you need your shot, but come on!
