Goodbye Blue Monday "looking for a future" in Bushwick

Goodbye Blue Monday

Goodbye Blue Monday is a "street-level livingroom-WIFI coffeehouse-gallery- performance space" and collectibles/gift store in Bushwick, Brooklyn. According to Curbed, the all-in-one venue sent out this message on MySpace:

we're looking for investors with expertise and vision who understand what we're trying to do here. the big, virtual picture. streaming, podcasts, live shows online, merchandise, sales and advertising.

we can't do these things with two-dollar PBRs.

we're trying to build a kitchen, upgrade the backyard for summer shows and get the basement lounge and record store opened for the autumn. we're trying to purchase the building we're located in.

please repost!! we're looking for a future here!

Goodbye Blue Monday's current list of events can be found at their MySpace. Photo of GBM via here.

None one will go to someplace off the J train in Bushwick for entertainment. Manhattan is convienient for those living in Jersey, Uptown, Queens, Brooklyn. You need to have quality bands playing in order for people to make the commitment to make it out to GBM. Don't they get it?

Sure, it's a pain in the ass to get to, but this is one of my very favorite venues in NYC. Last time I was there (2 Thursdays ago for Endless Mike and The Beagle Club) was the best night out I've had in a long time. I read a book that I found lying around about "Dragon Magick" in between sets.

Hell, they're having concerts way the hell up in Washington Heights nowadays (technically Manhattan, but come on). Anything can happen.

They fill the place up all the time, clearly people will come out there, not to mention the people that already live in Bushwick.

I'm going just for the dragon magick. Afterwards I'll catch a show in old Dumbb-oooh.
