Jesus & Mary ChainJesus & Mary Chain

This was the JAMC's final show at the House Of Blues. They broke up AT this show. It fell apart in front of our eyes! No flash was allowed so many of these are dark (except the ones I snuck a flash when I saw it was coming to an end) [Todd Nakamine]
That is no longer their "final" show. They're back, and not just for shows in California...

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 1:37 PM

"pleaes move to an island."

I live on an island, it's called Manhattan

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 1:54 PM

funny, that's the last place i saw them - at the old ritz.

Posted by jk | April 20, 2007 2:14 PM

I saw them at "the Academy" when they were touring with Mazzy Star -- does anyone know what happened to that place?

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 2:56 PM

speedo from rocket from the crypt on the jesus and mary chain reunion at coachella:

saw JMC twice. both times sukked massive eggs covered in turd. maybe it will be better now amongst 100 degree heat and 20 thousands eye brow piercings.

"rftc was actually partially inspired by how much they sucked live."

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 3:09 PM

The Academy I believe was purchased by Disney and turned back into a theater.

Speedo rules.

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 3:10 PM

the shooting at the black 47 concert i think spelled the end of the academy. i know my mom forbade my to go there after that. but it was a really cool shitty nyc venue.

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 3:23 PM

Ahh, the Academy...PJ Harvey...Breeders...Boredoms...Green Day...the secret Beck show...that place had style...it was pretty cool.

Posted by egg | April 20, 2007 3:33 PM

The Ramones played what should have been their last NYC show there. They later on went to play a couple of nights at Coney Island High (which I didn't go to!)

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 3:36 PM

Wait, Rocket from the Crypt is playing again? I thought they broke up? There's a band I'd love to see again. Although I'll check out JMC for sure.

Posted by will | April 20, 2007 3:36 PM

rftc is not back together...though they should...and its only been 1 1/2 years since they ended it. he was just commenting on it.

i saw my first concert at the academy...red hot chili peppers...summer of 94...surprise show after woodstock. they sucked.

also saw pavement on the wowee zowee tour there in 95 with dirty three opening...fucking awesome.

scarlett johansson?
seriously?
did anyone hear her songs?
i never thought she would actually attempt to perform live...
just keep to banging a different celeb every couple weeks.

Posted by Kelly | April 20, 2007 4:15 PM

cool. scar jo and j&m together at last?!

Posted by jess | April 20, 2007 5:12 PM

Actually The Icarus Line are opening the Pomona show: http://myspace.com/icarusline

Based on the songs I've heard off of their new album coming out, that will be an awesome double bill.

Quicksand/Orange 9mm/Into Another at the Academy. Good times - stage diving galore!

Posted by Anonymous | April 20, 2007 5:33 PM

Scar Jo is singing back up- not opening. just fyi. posted partial friday set times for coachella fyi.

Posted by cat dirt | April 20, 2007 6:27 PM

where are all of the webster hall haters?

Posted by wb | April 20, 2007 9:20 PM

scarlett johannson is so bangin

Posted by Anonymous | April 21, 2007 12:09 AM

I actually thought BRMC was one of the few bands that was able to use Webster Hall's cavernous sound problems to their advantage at their show last year. So if JAMC's offspring can do it...

Posted by David McCaffredy | April 21, 2007 3:07 AM

the brothers really dont like one another.....so i do wonder how the shows will be...they've always had a pretty fuck-all attitude as it was..

Posted by anon | April 23, 2007 10:34 AM

on sale wednesday at noon. $45/each. Damn, that's expensive.

Posted by derek | April 23, 2007 7:01 PM

is that really necessary? $45.... damn.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2007 11:52 AM

ain't no one twisting your arm.

Posted by drewo | April 24, 2007 12:46 PM

yikes.. 45 bucks... I ain't chancing that, they might pull one of their infamous 30minute sets. no thanks. Had it been 25 even 30 yes, but you have to have your standards.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2007 2:30 PM

Does any know what time they will go on?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2007 2:40 PM

Considering those are Thurday and Friday night shows, I would assume doors open around 6:30 with every band over by 9pm.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2007 2:51 PM

They're way too temperamental for $45.

Posted by pauliticas | April 24, 2007 2:53 PM

those are monday and tuesday shows not Thursday and Friday like the above poster said.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2007 3:19 PM
