Largehearted Boy's Interesting CD Releases This Week

DOWNLOAD: Herbert - Back to the Start (MP3)

RadioheadPanda Bear's Person Pitch is (rightfully) getting most of the notice among the discs released this week, but I'm most excited to get my hands on Centro-matic's Operation Motorcide EP, a collection of eight outtakes from the band's most recent album Fort Recovery.

Other highly recommended releases this week include Bonnie Prince Billy's Strange Form of Life EP, two Matthew Herbert releases: Score and 100 Lbs., the Radiohead reissue of Airbag/How Am I Driving? EP and Andy Partridge's latest collaborative project - Monstrance.

Having most of these discs already, my shopping list was pretty bare this week, consisting only of the two Wild Man Fischer reissues - Nothing Scary and Pronounced Normal.

Amazon has it wrong for some reason.

The Field. I already have those two (great) Herbert albums. How good is that Kings of Leon?

Posted by Eduardo | April 2, 2007 11:56 AM

I was wondering about that.

yeah, I pre-ordered that Panda Bear's album and according to Amazon email I'll get it around the first week of May. Doesn't make any sense.

That's funny that Capitol is reissuing that Radiohead EP. The band might have fulfilled its contract, but the label still has a large catalog it will cash in long after the band is gone.

Kings of Leon is pretty good stuff. Definitely different than the previous 2 LPs. It has a much bigger sound.

I'm digging on "On Call", "Knocked Up", "McFearless", "Camaro", etc.

that RH ep is also out of print so i don't see a huge deal with what they're doing... of course all of those tracks are on uk singles but it is a nice lil thing and the packaging was really cool.

also, isn't Twilight Sad out tomorrow? i'm bummed they cancelled their luna lounge show since aerogramme is having visa issues. so now only KF show tonight...

God, I keep forgetting that that Yoko Ono record is called 'Open Your Box.' *shudder* Also, I think Twilight Sad is out April 18th, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Black Sabbath would be on my list of CD's I'd be buying when I do get round to doing so.

Arg! Thanks for the heads-up, Andy. Now I've gotta update my blog. And get to a record store quick.
