Lily Allen played....Fillmore christened

"When doors open to Lily Allen's highly-anticipated New York City concert on April 11th, fans will notice a difference....After the show, a collectible poster commemorating the evening will be distributed to concert goers, a tradition that will continue for select shows throughout the year." [a quote of a quote previously on Brooklyn Vegan]

Jocelyn & the Lily Allen Poster (tripppppy) (CRED)
Lily Allen Fillmore

"Nothing's really changed to the Irving Plaza/Fillmore NYC takeover except the ugly sign outside, tons of posters lining the stairs up to the stage and a slightly larger awning VIP area." [thecultureofme]

"the ONLY things that have changed about this newly named venue are the posters on the wall from past Irving Plaza events, some red curtains against the right wall, and a large black and white photo of Bill Graham (who is probably rolling over in his grave, poor thing)." [Shelves of Vinyl]

No apples?

I also just found out that Lily Allen was supposed to play a private party at Studio B tonight (April 12), but that she cancelled and the Klaxons (who played Bowery last night, and are playing Studio B tomorrow) are taking her spot (meaning they are playing studio B two nights in a row)

Next stop for Lily = Roseland.

what made yesterday's show "highly anticipated". she played the same exact set barely two months ago.

"what made yesterday's show 'highly anticipated'. she played the same exact set barely two months ago."

It's actually a quote of a quote which I should have made clearer in this post.

highly anticipated b/c it was the inaugural show at the new mouthful venue, we copped free schwag (condoms and a stylish poster), and because the balcony was VIP with open bar (amazing).

Oh yeah, and because all the drunk little girls didn't know about Lily Allen 'barely two months ago' before "Smile" hit Mtv.

Schwing.

What a crock of shit.....

what made it special:

Venue rechristened, pretty cool DJ set with a neat screen backdrop, VIP balcony area with open bar (Yesss), free schwag in the form of condoms and a stylish poster, and a nice show by Lily.

Oh and lest we forget, at that show two months ago, all the drunken little girls who showed up to the gig at the new mouthful hadn't seen Lily's "Smile" video on Mtv yet.

"free schwag in the form of condoms"

Irving Plaza always has free condoms. That's pretty much the only reason to go to Irving Plaza.
