Kind of surprised that these United Palace shows have not sold out yet. Guess people are not in a huge rush to take the A to 175th Street...

the new modest mouse fucking owns. best since "lonesome crowded west" in my book.

Anyone who uses the term "fucking owns" automatically disqualifies his- or herself from judging the quality of anything.
Also, you're wrong.

how can you follow Man Man live?
tough days ahead for Modest Mouse.

Anyone whose judgment on another person's musical taste reeks so heavily of self-satisfaction clearly needs to get laid.

Yeah, that anonymous guy just got fucking owned.
The new one's definitely got some depth - fella should probably stop trying so hard and just enjoy it for what it is.

Yeah, you're right. I absolutely do need to get laid more often.
I guess I should have phrased it better: What makes this album the best since "Lonesome Crowded West" (an album that Isaac himself admits to not having been happy with), and not just kind of derivative of the last album? The guitar interplay with Johnny Marr? The lyrics? Unconventional instrumentation? Have you heard "The Moon and Antarctica," an album that was a huge creative step forward for the band in almost every aspect?
And to the guy who wrote "enjoy it for what it is," what does that even mean? Should listening critically be abolished, and should we just clap our flippers like seals for every half-assed effort that comes our way?

aw, someone is too old to get modern music. how cute.
no wonder you're so angry anoynmous. if i lost touch with artists, i'd be pissed too. but maybe you should work on yourself instead of criticizing something you clearly don't get.

hey anonymous, this is anonymous.
i'm sure that you and anonymous and your frat dude friends will have a lot of fun singing "fire it up" together in a very modern way while i listen to much better modest mouse songs and work on touching my artist.

on that may 2 show, lupo's heartbreak hotel is in providence, rhode island, not pennsylvania.
Posted by juniper | April 18, 2007 1:20 PM
Also it really isn't Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel anymore. It is now Lupo's at the Strand.
