Of Montreal @ Coachella - Kevin Barnes (in a dress)
NOTE: Coachella is streaming online now.
Ok, it's not really a dress, but it fit the running theme. Here's a picture of Kevin Barnes and Of Montreal playing Coachella on Friday...

5:25 p.m. Of Montreal whips up garish disco-rock as flamboyant as the band members’ costumes. Singer Kevin Barnes impersonates a mime, then dons a snappy drag-queen tennis-instructor number. [Chicago Tribune]Last time Of Montreal played NYC, they did karaoke.

Probably the worst band I've ever seen live. Wearing a dress, jumping around a lot, and acting "quirky" doth not make you a good, even competent band.

Anonymous - I don't know about their performance at Coachella, since I wasn't there - but I saw Of Montreal three times on this last tour, and they are one of the BEST bands I've ever seen live.
Kevin Barnes' vocals and the whole band's performances are spot on to how they sound on the album. Barnes hits every high note... plus he's amazing on the guitar.
Not to mention the tons and tons of entertaining stuff that goes on while they are playing. All of the costumes, props, and the spandex dude aren't there in place of music talent - they just add to the fun.
I will admit that they were not that great at the Brooklyn pool venue last summer. The three indoor shows I've seen them at were much, much better.
