Squeeze - 2007 reunion tour dates

"Reformed British pop supergroup Squeeze will launch a comeback tour in America. The hitmakers announced plans to reunite for a British tour last month, and now they're taking the reunion dates to America, where they scored a handful of hits in the 1980s.
The band, led by Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, will perform 12 shows in North America, beginning in Massachusetts on July 31. The tour will mark the first time Difford and Tilbrook have performed together since 1998." [Starpulse]

through the squeezefans site, I could have gotten a ticket for $99 through the pre-sale in row K at the bBacon..or if I paid $187 which includes a meet-and-greet with the band, I could have gotten row BB..lovely!

A hundred bucks plus fees to see Squeeze? People are on this site complaining about the forty five dollar ticket price for the Jesus and Mary Chain, which is arguable. But a hunderd dollars to see Squeeze? That's just plain ridiculous. That's almost the same price as seeing the Rolling Stones or the Who. Gimmee a break. Squeeze is not worth that price. They are a freaking great band, but not that important or mainstream popular enough in the day to command that kind of pricing structure now. Plus they are simply not old enough of a band to have the kind of fans that will shell out that lkind of money like the 60's and 70's artists do....

Then why is the show sold out already?
Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2007 2:17 PM
who said the show is sold out. It is not sold out at all. Go to the ticketmaster site and you can stil get a presale ticket. Maybe not down in the orch but you can still get in. If you want a better seat then wait till the tickets actually go on sale tomorrow
THIS SHOW IS NOT SOLD OUT!

There is no such thing nowadays as sold out. The promoters play so many tricks with the tickets, pre sales, on sale, post sale, pulling tickets, releasing tickets later, etc. etc. that a show that's only sold a quarter of the room can be "sold out" by the next day, until of course, the tickets and better tickets I might add suddenly pop back up again and again and again. I'sd be very surprised if this show sld out that quickly, or even at all at this price. Then again, the Beacon is in just the right neighborhood for this kinda act, Upper Westside Yuppies who are right now the perfect age to try and re-live their 80's youth by shelling out a hundred bucks and walking across the street to sing along to Tempted after buying their groceries at the overpriced Fairway.

Bowery Presents ALWAYS seem to release extra tickets for Bowery and Webster Hall shows the day of the event around 1:00 on ticketweb..
the Monday night show for Jarvis Cocker was "sold out" a week or so after tickets went on sale so a second one was added..of course a few weeks after the second one was added, tickets for the monday show suddenly went back on sale (although adverts in the voice showed it as sold out)people were even buying them at the door that night..

Who said it was $100/ticket? I bought two this morning, and it wasn't a $100.

you don't want to pay to go see them at the Beacon...go the the Staland Ballroom pay less and meet the band.

can I buy a ticket that let's me in just before they play "Pulling Mussels (From a Shell)", then kicks me out when it ends? Cause that's really the only reason to see Squeeze.

Squeeze were never the same after Jules Holland left the band. They peaked with Argybargy. i saw them 4 times in their heyday. I would much rather pay $100 to see The Chain - at least they rock!

Squeeze were excellent tonight..a lot of these new york hipster band need to take a few lessons in songwriting from those guys..
Posted by Anonymous | August 3, 2007 1:01 AM
Yeah, great show. I recorded it and its up on my site.
But what the hell is up with all the whistlers? I'd much rather stand next to a hipster texting all show, than some moron whistling during songs and spending the rest of the night lecturing his friend about his mortgage. And the chatty wives who haven't seen a show since 1983--when their hair was three times larger and asses three times smaller--shut the fuck up about your kid's SAT scores.

I have a kid in front of me that was around 400lbs and 6'3"..he kept moving around talking to his dad so my line of site was interfered with quite often..excellent show though..can't wait to hear the tracks..

Saw Sueezw 8/7 at North Fork Theater. The theater had opened up another section of tickets the night before the show. The wife got them as an early bday gift. What a great show. You can see clips on youtube that people took on their cellphones. Wife says it was the best show she's ever been to. They played all the favorites and were very tight.

Beacon show was great, with the exception of the horrific female troglodyte Leslie West lookalike wearing the blue tiedyed shirt in row BB left orch that stood and danced during the entire show (it was more of a prolonged epileptic seizure) managing, with her sizable ass, to block the view for about 12 rows behind her!
