Lexie Mountain Boys

Back in January, Akron/Family posted on MySpace
the lexie mountain boys rule! rule! rule!Akron/Family and The Lexie Mountain Boys play Bowery Ballroom in NYC on June 12th. For something completely different, check out the MP3 at the top of this post. All A/F tour dates below...
Current mood: gratefulwe had them over to record some vocals for our new record (yes that's right...this new one is gonna be a doosey) and the ho-down freak-out soul-clap meter shot up to 11! like the supremes on acid or something they brought a vibe so thick i had to go to bed early that night. i was wore out.
just needed to give a shot out to those lovely lovely sisters of ours there in b-more...apparently they are going on tour soon, so if they are within 300 miles of you, for the llove of all things precious. get there.
more later,
love

I am still listening to Meek Warrior on the reg. It's becoming a dependency. This should be quite fun.

yo i went to baltimore to see ak/fam after i blacked out at their knitting factory show. lexie mountain boys opened and it was the strangest thing i've ever seen. it was some sort of strange lesbian revolutionary performance art piece. there was maybe one snare drum and one tamborine. lots of yelling and touching of themselves.
it was so bizarre, being in a strange city, in this weird little venue, surrounded by nobody i knew, with this psychotic band playing on stage. they kept coming out into the audience to weird people out. the locals were loving it, but i was genuinely freaked out. baltimore really got to me that night. i felt defeated. like maybe new york wasn't so cool after all, if these kinda backswoodsy people from baltimore of all places were able to have this effect on me.
the girl at the bottom of the stairs in the picture: so fucking scary.
i fear this band.

I suggest Lexie fans listen to a Phish vocal jam.
