They're also coming back to do Letterman later this month.

They had to play without a drummer at their last atlanta show. At first they started playing quieter versions of the songs, then the members of CWK came up, each with a drum, and helped them out. Great show! Especially with them being completely unrehearsed.

Here's a video I shot from the first night at Bowery...

all three bands onstage doing 'Saint John' with lots of bangy things.

tokyo never suck live. they always have the energy. i went to the friday show and thought they blew cold war kids out of the water. the opener delta spirit were pretty good, they reminded me of birdmonster a little. tonight's mercury show is going to kick ass seeing as ra ra riot is opening. get there early for them.

Great Concert, all bands were right on. The way CWK s and TPC twitch around on stage, I felt like it was bells-palsy-in-skinny-jeans reunion

I liked TPC's set better than Cold War Kid's Saturday Night, both were great though, fun night...when will people realize it's ok to move around and dance to opening bands?

Tokyo blew CWK out of the water?!? Cmon now. CWK absolutely killed it up there.

Personally, that was the first time I've seen TPC and I wasn't impressed with them at all. A whole lot of energy and tamborine-banging, which was awesome, but I thought the actual music was kinda whack, particularly b/c the singer's voice sucks SO bad.

I take that back...his voice doesn't "suck SO bad"...just not feeling it, that's all.

Cold War Kids tickets released for tonight on Ticketweb.

Wish they would release tickets for tonight's Tokyo Police Club show...Cold War Kids...eh.

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2007 12:08 PM

yeah, i agree...tokyo police club's music is kinda whack.

ugh. lets not go here, CWk are expiring in front of our eyes. They look like a band who've been on the road playing the same set everynight for 2 years. BO ring. Not to mention dude sounds like Fiona Apple doing broadway tunes. I just don't buy it. All the contrived bobbing up and down....god....At least TPC are young, and having fun. Nothing more, nothing less.

their only memorable song is the one in which their band name is repeated.

I HOPE THE BOWERY SHOW IS 16+

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2007 1:11 PM

Gotta agree w/ Drugs Delaney here (great movie, btw)...really nothing special about TPC besides their energy on stage. They are fun to watch jump around, but the actual music just isn't doing it for me. I would never listen to their stuff otherwise.

Posted by TPC...ehhhh.... | April 9, 2007 1:23 PM

Cold War Kids were good but they remind me way way too much of Starsailor

Posted by Anonymous | April 9, 2007 1:23 PM

Wait. Where'd you get those new TPC dates? Just curious, probably no onsale-info, but if links or ticket dates are known or available, please inform, much thanks.

did CWK play Brick?

wait... that's Ben Folds Five. say... maybe i went to that show 10 years ago afterall.

TPC is 10x better than Cold War Kids. I've seen both of them, and more recently TPC at SXSW. For an industry showcase, they had a pretty lively set.
