Tokyo Police Club

Though technically signed to Paperbag Records in Canada, Tokyo Police Club are practically an unsigned band who are young, and doing awesome things like playing Letterman and headlining Bowery Ballroom (tickets on sale) (Maxwell's too), so enquiring minds what to know just WHO they will finally sign with. Will it be a major? Will it not be a major? Word on the street says it will be....Saddle Creek - home of Bright Eyes, The Faint, Cursive, and Maria Taylor (not a major). Maybe, maybe not.

Other people who recently signed on the dotted line

I thought it was a pre-requisite to be from Omaha to do that...although I guess Rilo Kiley did release one album on SC.

I could not be less interested than hearing about bands and their respective labels. No offense to BV...I'm sure some other people care about this stuff.

i actually really love hearing about bands and labels. go figure

I love hearing about band signings too! There are some bands on labels I absolutely hate and some labels with some crappy crap bands on their roster. I like being updated as to how the roster changes and where the label is headed.

It always especially interests me to see who Arts & Crafts signs as they go from basically being Broken Social Scene to being a more well-rounded label.

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2007 4:28 AM

Arts & Crafts really? Most of that shit sounds the same and it slightly boring but I guess people these days like boring music. All the best to them anyway.

Broken Social Scene and Stars are boring?

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2007 1:41 PM

no, but young galaxy, new buffalo, the dears, most serene republic, and jason collett are. (i.e. the rest of the their roster)
