This list is wicked disappointing - last year we got Wilco, Broken Social Scene, TV on the Radio/Voxtrot, etc.

MARLOW... sorry to disappoint, Wilco was not there last year. There was, however, an amazing concert by Yo La Tengo...

what if god was one of us?

How is that list disappointing? The Neville Brothers to start and Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars to end. Those two alone make it worthwhile. Plus KRS-One, Alloy Orchestra, and Richard Thompson. The less indie-rock, the better!

MARLOW thinks it's "wicked disappointing" (you earn the hipster lingo award for the day) because the lineup isn't full-on catering to the hipster crowd. Boo hoo.
Ralph Stanely & The Clinch Mountain Boys will be a good 'un.

Ralph Stanley should be a really fun show plus Bobby "Blue" Bland...the blues master himself. Glad to see some great music on the schedule again this year!

that's Sophia the perma puppy pitbull...

Joan Osborne will be amazing. If you have ever listened to her album, Relish, then you would know how bodaciously rad she is. If you haven't heard this amazingly soulful artist perform, then now is your chance! Don't miss this one...

Ravi Coltrane is seriously incredible, check him out

umm considering bv mainly caters to people who like indie...because thats what this blog is about.
so if youre on this site and getting upset at people wanting more indie..then you prooobbabbbly shouldnt be here.

"and why none as good as yo la tengo/science and kronos/dracula?"
Are you kidding? Alloy Orchestra are amazing. I saw the Sounds Of Science years ago at Lincoln Center and I didn't think it was that good. This coming for a big YLT fan who has seen them 15+ times in concert.

Neville Brothers and Joan Osbourne... good artists but kind of ho-hum.
KRS-ONE (yay!) withstanding, I'm kinda dissapointed by the line up this year.
The Manu Chau show isn't even free.
DJ Rekha is a dull DJ who plays good music but doesn't know how to move a crowd.
TV on the radio show last year was awesome, and the Burning Spear show a few years back was equally mind blowing. I'm pissed I missed the Maceo Parker gig with surprise appearance by Prince.
Guess I won't be spending much time in Prospect Park this year.

"The Manu Chau show isn't even free."
I don't see the problem is. Is the show sold out? If you like the artist, why don't you just get a ticket?
Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2007 6:29 PM
speaking of manu chau, just went to buy a ticket...
$30 for ticket
$13.55 is service charge
fuck and that.
does everyone agree to just buy their ticket the day of at the box office? yes? cool.
