DOWNLOAD: !!! - Must be the Moon (Hot Chip Remix) (via)

LCD Soundsystem and !!! in the same week is a good thing. Last night (May 16, 2007) at Bowery Ballroom was great, but when the crowd loosened up and exploded for the last three-or-so songs it was even better. When whats-her-name? from the Durty Nanas? jumped into the crowd I thought for sure she and the guy she landed on were not getting up - but they both seemed to survive it OK...

Last night's show made me SO happy. There are some pictures here: http://vejgurl.sarahforums.com/index.php

And I'm pretty sure she's Shananana of Durty Nanas.

maybe the most purely fun kick-ass live performance i've seen in a long time. Holy F*ck was pretty great too...

that shit rocked!

Awesome show! Loved it, loved it, loved it! I don't care what others around me are doing or not doing, however; I'm there to see the band and have a good time regardless of whether or not others are dancing, moping, whatever.

PS Dude in front of me made it smell like an Amsterdam coffee shop over to the right of the stage. Damn!

Had a great time at the show last night, wish I had made it a little farther up in the crowd since there seemed to be plenty of mopers around me in the middle. Anyone else find the excess of photographers constantly throwing their cameras up right in front of the stage a bit annoying? Will definately check out this band again in the future.

Anybody know what their deal is with encores? I saw them at Northsix over a year ago and they came back out to play "Giuliani." Last night the singer is giving the throat-slash gesture to the guys in the in the booth as soon as they finished.

Great show, watched Holy Fuck from above then came down for !!!. Was about 20 feet from the stage most of the show, then during intensify I got into a little pushing match with some others that got me right up front jumping around nearly having a heart attack. I danced all night, whats with all the people standing and gawking, it's like half these kids wanna kill themselves or something. Oh and I was the kid that was soaking wet due to no umbrella, I mean soaked.

EH who cares. Elvis Costello's show at nokia blew this one out of the water last night. 2 hours, no chatter, no bs just played hit after hit and not so famous ones as well. Band sounded excellent. Steve Nieve was on fire. Now that is a show

Was pretty darn great. And also, Holy Fuck! Who knew electronic music could be so good in performance?

Where, oh where can I learn to dance like !!!???

Seriously, can someone please explain why you're *so so so* worried about what everyone else is doing or not doing? WHO F'IN CARES!

I swear, it just sounds so juvenile when folks come on here bitching and moaning about "oh, people weren't dancing, what the fuck?" and "oh, I didn't have as good of a time as I should have because people around me weren't dancing."

Grow up. Seriously. It's really, really amazing how much some of you worry about what everyone else is doing. If you want to dance, awesome, me too, have fun! If you don't want to, awesome, hope you're still enjoying the show (you probably are). If you want to stand on the side and watch it quietly, awesome, hope you're still enjoying the show (you probably are).

It has *nothing* to do with anything. Ah, whatever, that's New York for you...

Did anyone notice Spank Rock watching the show from the backstage door?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 11:27 AM

umm did anyone notice that xxxchange was supposed to open, but didn't? I wouldn't have been there so early if I knew I'd be standing around for an hour until Holy Fuck went on at 10

Posted by MBF | May 17, 2007 11:37 AM

haha. shannon is awesome!

Posted by 3xWes | May 17, 2007 11:40 AM

xxxchange did open he was the guy djing on the balcony.

Posted by danfun | May 17, 2007 11:48 AM

Was that not XXXChange DJing from the balcony stage right?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 11:52 AM

"Seriously, can someone please explain why you're *so so so* worried about what everyone else is doing or not doing?"

Because there are some people that show up to shows like giant energy vacuums. I don't mind if people don't dance much, as long as they seem to be enjoying themselves, but if you get stuck standing next to someone that seems to suck all the life out of a room just by existing, that blows. It's sort of like yawning - it's contagious.

"umm did anyone notice that xxxchange was supposed to open, but didn't?"

I'm pretty sure he did; he was DJing from the balcony (left side).

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 11:52 AM

xxxchange definitely opened- as previously mentioned, he was in the balcony. he played 2 hrs, from doors up to the point holy fuck went on,(who are way, way fucking better than !!! btw) and between sets as well.

Can't wait for Studio B show.

Posted by Gustavo | May 17, 2007 1:15 PM

who is/are the opener(s) for the studio b show?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 1:31 PM

!!!'s main guy had some hilarious moves. They were fun, but Holy Fuck almost steals the night.

Posted by Eduardo | May 17, 2007 1:37 PM

The opener for the Studio B show is Maserati. They're an instrumental psych/prog/kraut band. And Jerry Fuchs (the mustachioed !!! drummer) is also the drummer in Maserati, among (what seems like) many other bands. They're pretty fucking amazing if you haven't seen them.

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 2:37 PM

What time did !!! go on? Trying to get a line on when they'll start at Studio B. Go team.

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2007 2:42 PM

Holy Fuck went on around 950/955, !!! was on stage around 1105.

Posted by MBF | May 17, 2007 3:16 PM

fucking awesome show!

Posted by dennis | May 17, 2007 7:00 PM

i seriously thought when shanana dove into crowd that was the end of her...just a little concerned but when she came up it was amazing.

Posted by dennis | May 17, 2007 7:00 PM

Feel free to...you know....at least mention that Holy Fuck was in the building. Geez.

Posted by Covert Curiosity | May 17, 2007 10:02 PM
