A couple of weeks ago I went to see The Thermals rock NYU....

JellyNYC has released this initial list of artists playing free shows at McCarren Pool in Brooklyn this summer:
Blonde Redhead, Ted Leo/Rx , The Thermals, Ghostland Obervatory, Octopus Project, Man Man, Illinois, I'm From Barcelona, Dengue Fever, and THE RUB DJsLooking good. More bands and dates TBA. I also heard that despite talk of building a pool in the pool, concerts will be back at McCarren in 2008.
Also note: Despite the Saturday date that was announced, I'm From Barcelona are actually playing that Sunday.

Previously

* Ted Leo & Blonde Redhead played Webster Hall
* MAN MAN vegan dinner w/ ISA CHANDRA & NY Magazine
* I'm From Barcelona - 2007 Tour Dates (McCarren Pool)

dates?
Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2007 1:31 PM
I was all excited because BV posted something on the JellyNYC shows so I assumed dates were just released. Instead, it's the same news from two weeks ago. Blogs should be timely, most knew the lineup weeks ago.

Where did you hear that concerts will be back in 08?
Posted by Anonymous | May 14, 2007 2:53 PM
I don't think anyone knows if the concerts will be back in 08 or not. It's definitely possible, but no one knows--the parks dept generally begins accepting applications in the fall. Since the planning process for the renovations begins in July of this year, everything is up in the air. But since groundbreaking on the renovations isn't supposed to be untl 2009, it seems likely there could be shows next summer too.
