COCOROSIE (band) arrested, but not for killing MARC HOGAN - some tour dates cancelled, but not the FREE NYC SHOW

CocoRosie posted the following message on MySpace today
dear lovesAccording to a commenter on Punk News, "some of the band members didnt have work permits to get into the US." Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but I think it is safe to say that neither Marc Hogan nor Antony were involved in any way. Whether or not Cocorosie or their band met Paris in Jail is also still a mystery.
we are so sorry to announce that we cannot play the rest of the us tour dates
the band got arrested, thats all i can say
we love you all
we are playing a free show in New York on may 19th
please come if you can
we are crying
say a prayer for our band
love
Sierra and Bianca
later...
Cocorosie's previously announced free NYC show is the one thing here that is actually not a mystery anymore. And it is still happening...

ok: so is it a cocorosie show or is it kids reciting their poems over cocorosie playing music?
Posted by lizzie | May 7, 2007 7:59 PM
agreed. they should be put in prison for the sounds they make.

Cocorosie are listed as special guests, so they'll actually be there, but who knows what they'll be doing.

"New York City's top teen poets in a fully choreographed show..."
Sweet! New York City has some of the best teen poets around, and now they're fully choreographed! It's like I've died and gone to Public Access TV!

do cocorosie realize that some of the teenagers are probably gonna be black?

You guys and your comments kill me.
In a good way.
If you could be arrested for being pretentious, racist, shitty-music-making douchebags, CocoRosie would be lifers.

they're so great... sad news!

They just cost me a concert with their tourmate Busdriver.
I hope the day of paperwork they saved by not getting a permit was worth it.

i'm sure they're being just as dramatic as all their absurd "poetry" and horrid fashion sense

I'm not sure I understand why CocoRosie is being accused of being racist in these comments... quick check on the definitions of parody / satire / irony, plz.

cocorosie is incredible, if you don't like it, don't listen to it.
wankers.

You guys should eat some meat.
Serious.

Anyone who thinks that cocorosie portrays racist thoughts through their music must themselves be a fundamentalist racist christian, (are there any other kinds...)Their lyrics point out the racism inherent in the 'holy' bible. Open your ears, your minds, and your hearts and you may actually receive the truth from their music. Man, all of the judgemental comments on their attire and lyrics are quite revealing of the minds that must have struggled to even type the right keys.

cocorosie may be the new hope within the music range, and here you come complaining about them for finally doing some music that doesn't sound like everything else.
and I'm not even gonna pick on some other band that I think is crappy, or drop a dorky comment about it, I'm just gonna say that I'm sorry you don't hear what I hear when I listen to cocorosie. cause it's fire and flames to thaw any heart with.
I saw their show a few days ago at the Way Out West Festival in Gothenburg, and it was more then great, over all expectations.
and I agree with comment of july 11.
