Bright Eyes is bringing out a special guest at each of his seven shows at Town Hall in NYC this week. Many were dismayed by the appearance of Lou Reed at night one. Ben Kweller came out during night two, and I'm losing track, but Jenny Lewis was the guest at either night three or four, or both or something like that. I don't have a picture, but there is the recent video of Jenny on stage with Ben Gibbard & John Vanderslice, and here are some photos from October of Jenny on stage with Feist (actually the other way around).....

Other stuff
* Cannes Film Fest Award Winners
* Concerts get 'Second Life' on Internet
* Kanye West samples Peter Bjorn & John & Daft Punk
* Sufjan Stevens & friends 'Take Away show" video @ Blogoteque
* Jenny Lewis contributed vocals to Jayhawk Gary Louris' new album
* Mocky, Feist, Gonzo, Lidell | Zero 7 & Jose Gonzalez | MP3s

The real question is: Will Rilo Kiley ever tour again? Jenny and the Twins are OK and all, but if RK has been put to rest that would be a very sad thing. Anyone know what their status is?

new album coming out on August 20th in the UK so assuming it's coming out the next day in the US. New album is called "Under the Blacklight".

Pitchfork reported: "Under the Blacklight, the fourth album from strident pop sensations Rilo Kiley, will be issued August 20 in the UK, according to NME.com and confirmed by Rilo Kiley's label, Warner Bros. (No U.S. release date has been announced yet.)"

Hallelujah - I hope there is a tour (though they obviously missed the summer festival season)- well, something to look forward to in the fall/winter

i was not as into BE last night as when i saw them in march. jenny lewis was the highlight for me, as well as gillian welch & david rawlings, who were a superb opener.
i got a few pics of jenny last night, and a video of "melt your heart". the embed is acting screwy on my blog, so click on the links instead.

That Feist album is absolutely spellbinding. Anyone that doesn't think so has no soul.

"Anyone that doesn't think so has no soul."
Oh please. It's really quite boring and quite a huge disappointment.

I'm sorry you feel that way Brian. I don't really know what you were expecting from Feist other than the melodic, achingly beautiful pop that she delivers so sweetly and sincerely. Perhaps if you let your "hip" guard down a little bit and gave it a chance you would learn to like it. You're soul, if you have one, will thank you for it. Seriously how can you say that songs such as "Sea Lion Woman" "1234" and "I Feel it All" are boring? Are we listening to the same album?

Norah Jones/Little Willies on Tuesday night. Lots of David Rawlings in the Bright Eyes set.
Encore of "Ms. Ohio" and most of Neil Young's "Helpless" with BE, Norah, Gillian Welch, and Rawlings.
Good show. Conor is growing into a performer, if a bit awkwardly. But the band arrangements were at times fantastic, and the strings a nice addition.
Stipe/Springsteen over the next two nights?
