Posted by Eric | May 30, 2007 1:27 PM

shit - that's what i get for going to class.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 1:27 PM

I just read that the password is the name of Carlos' dog.

More useless information for my head.

Posted by melissa | May 30, 2007 1:30 PM

Seriously? He named his dog after Caligula? That's kind of awesome.

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/341292167.html

really? 1k? realllllllyy?

sad thing is someone will probably pay it.

Posted by Jim | May 30, 2007 1:44 PM

"Ugh. It sucks that the scalpers frequent this site too:
http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/tix/341292167.html"

well i got my ticket, thanks BV but this scumbag who is selling...look at what he writes...he is a real urchin
but hey no one is gonna pay 1000 dollars for each ticket..too funny
my initial thought is to flag it but he apparently did not read the fine print on ticketweb...its only will call for the tickets and only the buyer whose name is on the card can go in to the show with his guest. And the 2 people have to go in together....so this shithead can only sell one ticket if that.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 1:47 PM

re: why not just catch the pipettes instore?

Even better, why not just grow a sack and stop listening to crappy music?

Posted by James | May 30, 2007 1:53 PM

re: james

defending your superior music tastes in an interpol thread is counterproductive.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 2:10 PM

the $1K craigslist post was a joke, ya'll.
didn't anyone get it?
just a little current nyc social commentary..

Posted by scumbab scalper | May 30, 2007 2:30 PM

Thy are gonna move it to Webster Hall anyway

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 2:38 PM

theres already a show at webster that night - it's not getting moved

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 2:44 PM

after seeing what arctic monkeys tickets at webster last year were going for, 1k really wouldnt surprise me for a small show at the bowery for a band as popular as interpol

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 2:51 PM

Since there was a password, was this a pre-sale?

Posted by B | May 30, 2007 2:53 PM

They played the Bowery to start the Antics tour so it will not be moved. I thought I read that this was the presale when I bought my tickets

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 2:56 PM

thanks for the heads up BV, but I still missed out on getting a pair. this sucks.

Posted by adamvk | May 30, 2007 3:06 PM

i shall never leave my computer for lunch again. thanks, bv, for posting. if anyone has a spare, let a girl know - emotipe @ hotmail . com
i know it's will call only..

Posted by kellie | May 30, 2007 3:16 PM

i bet they will add another show at bowery.... maybe? hoping? praying? anyone else have an opinion about that?

Posted by woweezowee | May 30, 2007 3:51 PM

I doubt they will add another Bowery show given the fact that the next open date would be June 13th. Don't know about the other venues around town though...

Posted by CN | May 30, 2007 4:01 PM

I'd have to imagine that they'd play a larger venue at a later date a la Arcade Fire (Judson->United).

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 4:03 PM

yeah - hammerstein, the theatre at MSG or United

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 4:08 PM

are these guys native new yorkers? If they are, then why don't they do something a little more special for their hometown. I know If i was in a pretty cool rock band I would make an effort to reward my hometown with some frequent or free shows.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 4:09 PM

i'm everything short of giving away a lung to see this show. if anyone has another and would like a plus one, i'll take you to dinner afterwards or something.

withmalicetowardnone at gmail dot com

Posted by Lester | May 30, 2007 4:36 PM

Yeah Lester, I really want to go to dinner with you...

Posted by JeffreyDahmer | May 30, 2007 4:56 PM

if you chop me up and eat me geoff AFTER the show. i'm all about it.

Posted by Lester | May 30, 2007 5:02 PM

It did say presale when you put the code in . . .

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 5:09 PM

yes they are from NYC that is why we are getting this sort of tuneup before they go on tour show. They have done it a few times before last time Bowery prior to that some small club.

I doubt they will add another show or that this was just a presale.

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 5:36 PM

is it all ages?

Posted by knives_outx | May 30, 2007 5:45 PM

Of course, the only day that I would be offline, tickets for Interpol would go on sale. I am pretty gutted that I missed the chance to see them at the Bowery. They always sound great there. I have been such a long-time fan. Since back in the day.... I saw them before the first album came out and been a loyal admirer for years. I am sure you have seen my redheaded bobbing along in the front row...

If you have an extra ticket and you want to make a person very, very happy, I would be delighted to be that person.

My email is rojacaliente40@hotmail.com.

Crossing my fingers.....

Posted by redhead | May 30, 2007 6:49 PM

like the redhead said, the first fucking day I am not online all day, tickets go on sale. FUCKKKKKK FUCK FUCK FUCK

Posted by Daniil | May 30, 2007 7:49 PM

HA-HA!

Posted by Nelson Muntz | May 30, 2007 8:08 PM

Sigh, it looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go with a scalper. I hate to pay $200 bucks for one, but this is my favorite fucking band. Fuck!

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 8:34 PM

Good news.....

i went to the interpol message board and told them my tale of my woes about not getting a ticket. seconds after my post, some nice fan emailed me and offered me their second ticket.

ahhh.... keeps my faith in the goodness of music fans going strong. Might be an avenue to explore.

Posted by redhead | May 30, 2007 10:13 PM

for people looking for tixs....try looking on ticketweb during the day before the show and bowery usually sells tixs at the door if you get there early enough the day of...don't pay $200

Posted by just wait | May 30, 2007 11:10 PM

i know the franz date

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 11:44 PM

redhead is a whiny cunt

Posted by Anonymous | May 30, 2007 11:48 PM

"I saw them before the first album came out"

Prove it: name the venues they used to play at. Name at least three. I know them, do you?

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 12:39 AM

rabble rabble rabble

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 12:43 AM

I can't believe you twats are this obsessed over this show. Seriously, these guys are douches. Why don't you all contract herpes and die?

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 1:17 AM

Herpes, isn't funny, asshoole

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 1:26 AM

I agree that, even in my fandom of the band and having never seen them live, the foaming at the mouth is a bit much. They're an NYC band, and you'll see them once a year.

A lot of you could never be metal fans. Some bands only come overseas once or twice, ever.

Posted by Teddy Sanchez | May 31, 2007 2:24 AM

i'm not the redhead, but i don't like seeing people not be able to believe someone saw f'in interpol BEFORE the album came out. did you know that they lived in NY before they got popular? OR that they existed BEFORE & NOT BECAUSE of the NYC band thing? my three: opening for the delgados @ knitting factory nov'00, opening for ash at bowery spring'02, headlining bowery august'02.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 9:29 AM

they had shows at brownies quite often back in '00 and '01. they must have played that venue a dozen or so times.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 9:51 AM

I saw them and The White Stripes for the first time, though not together, @ Mercury Lounge in the summer of '01 (or around that time) and I remember HATING them both and thinking, "What a WASTE of time" after both gigs. Now, I have all their records. Well, not every single, but still . . . .

Posted by b.LOUD | May 31, 2007 12:55 PM

An initial batch of tickets for Interpol's June 5th show at the Bowery Ballroom sold out instantly. More tickets will go on sale shortly. As well as a rumored Webster Hall show........so no need to pay scalpers any more money than it should be.

Posted by Don't you worry | May 31, 2007 2:45 PM

there won't be any more bowery tix on sale i don't think....and i'm skeptical about this supposed Webster show - why dont they just announce it if it's happening?

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 2:52 PM

"An initial batch of tickets for Interpol's June 5th show at the Bowery Ballroom sold out instantly. More tickets will go on sale shortly"

not true. unless they put some on sale the day of show or whatever like they always do. THIS WAS NOT A PRESALE.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 3:01 PM

I called bowery and spoke to the head of booking. there won't be any tickets sold at the door nor will there be any more put out on ticketweb. i'm dead inside.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 9:29 PM

The tickets were on sale too long for it to be only a presale. I am not a fan and I was thinking "how can this not sell out faster?". In hindsight I should have purchased 2 and scalped 1. I also remember them playing at Brownies all the time.

Posted by Anonymous | May 31, 2007 10:17 PM

to anonymous dead inside, i can almost 100 percent guarantee that they'll release tickets at door even though they said they won't

Posted by Anonymous | June 1, 2007 12:42 AM

"hindsight I should have purchased 2 and scalped 1."

actually losers like you shouldnt purchase any tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | June 1, 2007 12:17 PM

Any word on openers? Anyone?

Thanks,
--M

Posted by Moiche | June 1, 2007 2:12 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 1, 2007 2:37 PM

Horrors cancelled their show that night...but the Cinematics and Bravery are playing in Brookyln at Union Hall incase y'all have nothing to do

Posted by Anonymous | June 1, 2007 10:32 PM

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 12:55 AM

there is no leak. believe me.

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 1:11 PM

does anyone know for sure if they will be selling tixs at the door...and how much it would cost.\and if it's 21 or over

Posted by desperate | June 4, 2007 1:34 PM

I just called Mercury Lounge (Bowery's box office) and asked if they'll be releasing more tickets at the door tomorrow. The guy's response was "I don't believe so."

If he's wrong and they do release some more tickets at the door, they'd be for face, $25. Almost all of their shows are 18+.

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 1:46 PM

As of now they are back on sale through ticketweb. My friend and I each just scored a pair.

Posted by Dan | June 4, 2007 2:32 PM

Tickets up now on ticketweb. Just got two with the password "gaius."

Posted by Mike | June 4, 2007 2:34 PM

was it just me, or did they go back on sale (ticketweb) for a few minutes?

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 2:35 PM

Quick! they're back on sale! - ticketweb.

Hi!!--

Does anyone know how to still get 1 ticket? I just need 1...

In terms of going to the venue tomorrow to see if there are tickets available, which venue should I go to, Mercury Lounge or Bowery Ballroom??

And what time should I get there?

Thanks!

Posted by lisbeth | June 4, 2007 9:35 PM

is there an opener?

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 10:35 PM

Tickets (if they are available) will be available at the bowery when the doors open.

I think a lot of people are gonna try that though, so i'd show up at six at the latest...better safe than sorry.

Posted by Anonymous | June 4, 2007 10:56 PM

Good call....

thanks!

Posted by lisbeth | June 4, 2007 11:35 PM

Ok. Can anyone answer this for me??

WHY is Interpol only playing this one, barely publicized, "surprise" show in New York? They are a NEW YORK BAND!!!!!

Why aren't there any New York dates on their tour?? Are they planning to play shows in New York once they come back in late November/early December??

I just don't understand...and I am heartbroken at the thought of not seeing them...why don't they play more legitimately announced shows in their own hometown????

(Not saying that BV isn't legitimate-- just saying that official tour dates wouldn't hurt either!!)

Does anyone understand this?? Am I completely missing someting??

New York is most likely where all their biggest fans are, and where the audience is probably most receptive!!!!!

ARGHGHHH!!!! someone please clarify

Posted by bedelia | June 5, 2007 1:34 AM

let me clarify this instead bedelia

you are a retard.

but do not worry it is ok.

you are probably really cute and if i met you in person, i would be blown away since i look like charles barkley mixed with amon tobin. and i am white.

Posted by vegansforanonymoussex | June 5, 2007 5:34 AM

on the captiol website they're listed to be playing new york july 10th.

Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2007 5:54 AM

i just read on nme that franz ferdinand is doing their own secret show there next week. just figured i'd share

Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2007 8:03 AM

Does anyone know if more tickets will be sold online today for Interpol @ the Bowery?

Posted by AimeeJ | June 5, 2007 9:51 AM

bedelia,
i feel your pain and i'm not quite sure why that dude felt the need to respond in such an insulting manner -
maybe i missed an inside joke?

i totally understand you and thought i'd try to clarify in a more positive way.

my guess is that this was a rather unnecessary and annoyingly executed 'publicity stunt' ...
look, we're still burning up message boards trying to score this hot commodity day of.

i regularly check the official board and still managed to miss the nyc word.

this is the first interpol bowery show that i won't be seeing and i too was heartbroken but i've finally accepted it and will try to stay on top of 7.10 news.

x

b, if i could i would but i'm taking my roomie!
she's my showmate. i'm sorry!
i literally posted as fast as i could!

Posted by honey | June 5, 2007 3:33 PM

hey honey, lets shake it together in front of the venue

and bedelia. i only got one, sorry. if i didnt get this ticket i was going to go to the venue. i am 100 percent sure they will release more tickets at the door if they just released a few online. dont get there too late, get there around 7 the latest, and i m sure you can find something dont worry, but try. if you dont try and find out tomorrow that people bought tickets at the door, you ll hang yourself. the thing with bowery is that even if you dont have a ticket, you have a good chance getting in. you can always offer some money to the person who stamps the cigarette smokers.

show up at the venue and be nice to the guys at the door, they will tell you when they have more tickets available. be nice and get in a line if they ask you to.

Posted by GOOOO | June 5, 2007 3:34 PM

does anyone else get the feeling that pretty much everyone at tonite's show got their tix thanx to bv?

Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2007 3:37 PM

its ok! thanks!! i understand!!

the offer is still out to anyone else who may have a + 1!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2007 3:39 PM

i just posted "it's ok...thanks...etc." i meant type my name but i forgot and it came up anonymous.

anyway thanks everybody for the advice!!

i am not giving up!!!!

any more tips from anyone about what to do at the venue??

i don't have a lot of experience or concert-ticket-obtaining savvy!! (YET)

Posted by bedelia | June 5, 2007 3:44 PM

i should go to the bowery ballroom to see if there are more tix, right?

not mercury lounge (even though that is where the "box office" is?)

Posted by bedelia | June 5, 2007 3:48 PM

Yes, go to Bowery, but do not try to bribe the door guys. They're very cool, but also honest.

Posted by Anonymous | June 5, 2007 4:00 PM

HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING. THIS IS BULLSHIT. I'VE BEEN CHECKING TICKETWEB AND THE WINDOW IS NEVER OPEN FOR ME TO BUY.
