DOWNLOAD: The Beastie Boys - Now Get Busy (MP3)

Ad Rock

Reports from the 2007 Sasquatch Festival in Gorge, Washington are starting to filter in. One such report involves alt-country's corset queen Neko Case

"I'm going to see if I can make it through an entire set this year," Neko Case said when she began at 3:40 p.m. Last year, Case's Sasquatch! set was plagued by hail; this year, she got lots of sunlight, which didn't prevent her from playing Bob Dylan's "Buckets of Rain." Case's largely acoustic performance was a good mid-day balm. [Seattle Times]
The picture above has been described like this:
Beastie Boy Ad Rock looks cool while playing the guitar during an intimate show at the Crocodile Cafe Friday night. The concert was a warm up show for the group's two sets at the Sasquatch! Music Festival in George during Memorial Day Weekend. Photo by Travis Hay
According to the setlist, the Beasties didn't play all instrumental. More photos of the Boys HERE.

It should also be noted that both comedians Aziz Ansari & Sarah Silverman arrived (VERY) late to the festival. That in turn left two of the three stages un-hosted for most, or all, of the first day. Michael Showalter was spotted doing his job though.

Stay tuned right here for more reports from Sasquatch 2007 - including those from the yeti himself.

Now *that's* the kind of setlist I'd want to see at a Beastie Boys show nowadways. Mostly instrumental, with Check Your Head-ish era stuff mixed in. Nice.

Anyone with sasquatch pics, I'd love an email.

I was at the main stage most of both days and never once saw Sarah Silverman...good thing, I can't stand her, but I hope that they got their money back. Even when the main stage got shut down for 3 hours on Sunday due to craaaazy freezing wind, there was another guy giving the updates. Beasties kicked ass, as usual. It was nice to have 2 performances from them, as we mostly went just to see them. I was disappointed to see songs played on both days, when they have so many to choose from, but they looked sweet!
It would have been more tolerable if I could have afforded even one beer, a can was ten freaking dollars!!! Fuck off Gorge, that is the last time I will be going there.

Sasquatch 2007 pics, vids and my blog on the weekend can be found here:

Despite the wind and cold and delays, it was an amazing weekend. Notables are The Helio Sequence, Viva Voce, The Black Angels and who knows how Ghostland Observatory has the power to completely take over your body with the most infectous, electro punk rock you've ever heard in your life.

I was there dude.

Julian Cope on Mac:

"I gots to tell y’all that when I heard the other day that the Bunnymen’s Ian McCulloch is writing his autobiography, I nearly shat my undies laughing so hard (good job I don’t wear any!); Ian Mac write a book? A man for whom completing a single song on his own is a struggle of Everest the Hard Way proportions is hardly going to write a book. Ian, I’m speechless at your continued arrogance in the face of no evidence whatsoever. In my opinion, you’ve been a dried-up shell of a husk of a man since just after OCEAN RAIN, so don’t embarrass us all with your ludicrous claims that you’re gonna write an autobiography. Two words… No Way. Writing a book involves discipline and hard work, two things you never nailed in the past and never will. As I heard it, you even said in the press that your book will be better than the Bible. Well, in two ways it may well be like the Bible: 1) it’ll be full of half-truths and outright lies, and 2) it’ll have been written by umpteen uncredited writers and you’ll name yourself solely as its author. There you go, dumkopf, I just handed you the map: don’t even bother buying yourself a pen, son; just do what you’ve always done throughout your career; get someone else to do most of the work then claim all the credit yourself. I even have a title already: MAC USER. And with that, I shall sweep off into the Beltane sunset. Yowzah!"
