  3. Dan Deacon wants YOU to sing in his choir!
A vision came to Dan one night of being joined by an angelic choir at the end of his set each night for a rousing, spiritual version of his anthem "Wham City" from his recently released Spiderman of the Rings - a musical tribute to his place of dwelling and to the Baltimore music community he is a part of. This is where YOU come in - Dan Deacon is inviting you to come and be his choir. Dan envisioned a co-ed choir, so all you have to do is be one of the first four males or first four females in your city to e-mail dandeaconchoir@gmail.com and YOU will become a member of the Dan Deacon Wham City choir! (please put the name of your city and your gender in the subject line of the e-mail to make things easier for Dan). Dan collaborated with Baltimore artist Stefani Levin to make eight beautiful blue and yellow Wham City choir robes which you'll get to wear, and Dan will provide you with lyric sheets. If you want to practice and prepare, the song "Wham City" is posted on Dan Deacon's MySpace page at www.myspace.com/dandeacon so you can start singing along.

In other news, Dan Deacon will release "The Crystal Cat" as a 7" single on Carpark on July 17 with a new, previously unreleased B-side.

  4. Free shows for free....
It's that time of the year again when JellyNYC brings you music, slip n slide and dodge ball at McCarren Park Pool. We are looking for volunteers for a 9 week summer event starting June 24 to August 19th, every Sunday come rain or shine. Get ready AGAIN for a summer of great music and great fun and Sundays you'll never forget.
For more info check out: www.thepoolparties.com
To volunteer and for more information please email : jane@jellynyc.com
Dan Deacon plays the Pool Party on July 8th which means you could potentially be in his choir and a volunteer at his show at the same time.

I also need some help with keeping up with laundry and other small assorted tasks. The internship is unpaid (but with great contacts) and will run until the conclusion of the summer. Send resumes (word format) to the enclosed address.

Happy free labor season, everyone!

The DD/Boredoms thing is cool, I must say. Audience participation is usually a fun add.

definitely no more drummer spots available for the boredoms show - wait list is something like 1000 deep so don't bother sending Hisham an email bc his inbox is busting.

should be great though!

I can also confirm that Hisham has definitely found enough drummers for the Boredoms event. At this point he has stopped responding to all emails.
