Sonic Youth playing Daydream Nation @ McCarren Pool (presale)

Sonic Youth's Kim Gordon @ Coachella
Sonic Youth @ Coachella

The rumor was that Sonic Youth would be performing Daydream Nation in Prospect Park in August. The reality is (pretty close)....

Sonic Youth are excited to announce a NYC performance of the Daydream Nation album: July 28 at the McCarren Park Pool in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Presale Tickets available May 2 at 10AM Eastern. Public Tickets onsale Friday May 4 at noon Eastern. Additional Daydream Nation performances in the USA include July 13 at the Pitchfork Music Festival, on July 19 at the Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, CA and July 20 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
Will a second date be added? Last year they played two shows there, and that wasn't Daydream Nation, but it was with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.(thx Ondal)

Put an ad on Craigslist offering a blowjob in exchange for a ticket.

NO!!!! My friend has truly picked THE WORST weekend to get married... Unless I find a way to break it up...
Perfect photo, btw.

Kindly suggest to your friend that you just found the most charming little outdoor place for them to hold their wedding ceremony. And you've already got a band booked for the reception.

Livenation is not selling those tickets yet (12:15pm). WTF

Posted by Eduardo | May 4, 2007 11:58 AM

they're on sale now...

Posted by JL | May 4, 2007 12:16 PM

Live Nation and Ticketmaster are a bunch of fukwads. There is a $7 "convenience fee", a $1 "venue fee" and then when you go to purchase tickets, they add ANOTHER $5 "shove if up your ass fee" jacking the original $34 tickets up to $47!! You know where they can stick it. It's like the live nation shows at McCarren last year with their $15 service fees. When are people going to learn that this is way too much to pay and start boycotting that shit?! But I guess hipsters never learn a damn thing.

ASSWIPES-- go on the fucking internet & download some SY live Fall '88, when they did "Daydream"... cool as the record was, live it was ALWAYS a snooze.

HEY JONI-- you can't SING, & no, we're not waiting for your all songs solo record.

Tho' most of you were still sucking yr mom's tit, the pre-Daydream shows at Maxwell's & CB's (gigs before recording) were just OK too, tho' the title of "Silver Rocket" definitely improved.

FUCK NOSTALGIA & hey, did ya'll hear--

Pajo went Cobain yesterday & blew his head off-- pal in Louisville (not Will) called-- who'll take his place in Sha Na Na Slint?

tiffany 12:53, i think if you bought the tix thru the presale run by ducat king, it would have tacked on ~$4 per ticket. but if that equivalent of starbucks latte is still too much for you, then i think you can go to irving plaza or earwax and get them fee free, okay?

Posted by Qbertplaya | May 5, 2007 9:37 AM

CB's 1988 - you're getting senile. Pajo alive and well.

sold rock the bells ticks. SY is way better

Posted by me | May 24, 2007 10:12 PM

Hey i just saw CB's post from MAy 5th
Wow CB's you are a straight fuckhead helping fuel false rumors of Pajo's death plus you have no idea what you are talking about. Sonic Youth's pre Daydream shows at Maxwells were some of the best shows i have ever seen by the band much less any band.

Seriously CB, may i invite you to please pull a Cobain.

Has anyone tried to get tickets for this recently? I've tried to get tickets through Ticketmaster the last couple of days and have been getting the "There were no tickets available that matched your request" bullshit. Does that mean the show is sold out even though it doesn't say it on the status? I find it hard to believe that Sonic Youth would sell out McCarren...

Posted by David McCaffredy | July 11, 2007 10:39 PM

Seriously, is this sold out? Apparently only ticket master is aware of this.

Posted by mike | July 12, 2007 11:40 AM

I don't even think Sonic Youth/Yeah Yeah Yeahs at McCarren sold out last year, did it? Does McCarren have a physical box office like Irving Plaza or Mercury Lounge? I'd rather avoid dealing with Ticketmaster completely.

After the Cat Power/BTS set time erroneous advertisement, anyone want to take a stab at what time SY will go on?

Whatever it is, someone should be sure to respond with, "Doors are at 3PM, so just get there early, dickwad."
