The rumor was that Sonic Youth would be performing Daydream Nation in Prospect Park in August. The reality is (pretty close)….

Sonic Youth are excited to announce a NYC performance of the Daydream Nation album: July 28 at the McCarren Park Pool in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Presale Tickets available May 2 at 10AM Eastern. Public Tickets onsale Friday May 4 at noon Eastern. Additional Daydream Nation performances in the USA include July 13 at the Pitchfork Music Festival, on July 19 at the Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, CA and July 20 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

Will a second date be added? Last year they played two shows there, and that wasn’t Daydream Nation, but it was with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.(thx Ondal)
