Are they gonna check your private parts at the 10pm show to make sure you're a girl?

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 7:53 AM

NICE! Thanks for the heads up BV!
I'm actually really excited to hear some new YYY tracks. I was very pleasantly surprised by Show Your Bones and I like the direction they're headed...

Wristbands at 5PM? Damn. I'll be at work. Why can't they do this in -oh, I dunno- midtown?

Posted by jerry | May 4, 2007 9:26 AM

So if you're a girl and you don't get into the 7PM show, you could wind up waiting at least 5 hours for the (next) show.

Posted by Philomath | May 4, 2007 10:00 AM

Man that place is small, I'm surprised they can fit 250 people in it.

Posted by Marlon | May 4, 2007 10:19 AM

EP? What EP?

Posted by shLRok | May 4, 2007 10:34 AM

Neat-o... I'm not a huge fan of YYY's--especially after seeing them open for Sonic Youth last summer at McCarren--but I love when bigish bands play tiny venues like this.

I was lucky enough to see Bad Religion at Ann Arbor's Blind Pig some time ago (not to mention Ween at Northsix, Clutch at Maxwells, etc etc). Those big bands, small venue shows are always quite memorable.

How early do you think people will have to get there to get in?

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 11:17 AM

Y Y Y 'S are O-V-E-R

wont everyone be at the arcade fire show??

Posted by um | May 4, 2007 2:54 PM

Right, because *everyone* likes Arcade Fire.

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 3:03 PM

um - what hate on the yyy's
anon - why hate on the people who like arcade fire?
why do people get so snobby about their music and think they're better than other people for it because their tastes are more "advanced" or something?

Posted by haterofhaters | May 4, 2007 3:09 PM

haterofhaters

because they either are: a. jealous of everyone. b. small dicked c. a whiney bitch in stretch pants that knows how to strum a couple of chords on an acoustic guitar or d. all of the above.

Posted by joe | May 4, 2007 3:18 PM

So, if Bradford Cox wears a dress is he allowed into the 10pm show?

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 4:31 PM

"anon - why hate on the people who like arcade fire?"

I wasn't *hating* on Arcade Fire. I was merely commenting on the fact that um said "everyone would be at the Arcade Fire."

I like that band just fine. Please read in context. Thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 4:37 PM

I hope I don't have to see Bradford Cox getting head again.

Posted by Anonymous | May 4, 2007 10:58 PM

arcade fire and the yyys both suck. boycott both shows

Posted by Anonymous | May 5, 2007 7:39 PM

At least you got to see Bradford Cox. :(

from YYYs bulletin on myspace:

UPDATE:
Due to capacity restrictions there will be 100 wristbands available for the 7:00pm show.

There be 100 Girls-Only wristbands available for the 10:00pm show.

Wristbands can be picked up between 5:00PM and 5:30 PM only (day of show).

If you are not there between 5:00pm and 5:30pm please do not come down.

No line-ups at the club before 4:30pm.

Posted by Qbertplaya | May 5, 2007 11:32 PM

Ok, someone please tell me how they're going to enforce the "No line-ups at the club before 4:30pm" rule?

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2007 2:04 PM

do you think i could get away with waering light gray?

Posted by anonymous | May 6, 2007 3:47 PM

I'm a tranny, do you think they'll let me in to the late show?

Posted by Anonymous | May 6, 2007 4:40 PM

From 250 to 100? How the hell did they miscalculate capacity that badly?

"Ok, someone please tell me how they're going to enforce the 'No line-ups at the club before 4:30pm' rule?"

Well, if you get there well before 4:30 and then someone who gets there just at 4:30 cuts in front of you, they won't give a rat's ass.

Posted by Philomath | May 6, 2007 6:49 PM

what is she holding in that photo , a dead baby?

Posted by Anonymous | May 7, 2007 2:07 AM

"Ok, someone please tell me how they're going to enforce the 'No line-ups at the club before 4:30pm' rule?"

Have a bouncer outside telling people to go down the block like they usually do after shows?
