VIDEO: David Cross on Law & Order
Who killed Anna Nicole Smith?....
"...that last cry really brought back memories of our favorite actor/analrapist Tobias Funke — but even we have to admit that he was upstaged by the amazing set design." [The Coming] (thx Klaus)

I couldn't take him seriously

It's hard to not laugh. In fact I did laugh. Oh well

I love David Cross, but seriously, who watches these Law and Order and CSI shows? They are absolutely terrible. And the whole "Ripped straight from the headlines" storyline just reeks of lazy writing. We couldn't come up with our own murder mystery so we are blatantly using the Anna Nicole story.

Hahaha. David Cross is hilarious.

Just another example of why I've never watching a L&O episode in my life. Why the hell do I need a TV show based on Anna Nicole Smith's death? It was bad enough to have to sit through two months of "news" about it. But now I need L&O to re-play it? Bite me, Dick Wolf.

I'm pretty sure he knew he was going to get laughs here. He is using the same sort of phony sensitive voice he uses while mocking people in his standup. The only question is whether the show was in on the joke. I am hoping for a no.

Totally hilarious. I agree with you guys, Cross knows this is laugh material for his fans.

Sure, DC is so popular he can turn up on a tiny little show like L&O and play it for laughs and the producer and director let him get away with it for the legions of fans that will tune in for it...not.
He might be very funny but he's not a good actor. Live with it.

CI sucks anyway... Cross is an actor, and the producers of CI were willing to hire him; whether they're familiar with him or not...
***
side note: SVU is a much better show, and shouldn't be brought down by the short-comings of its peers. If, for anything, it makes rapist entertaining...

Hey, L&O is a great show, it's been around for years and tons of respected actors have been on it. I agree that they've gone too far on the whole 'real life' issues thing, but I don't think you can compare L&O and CSI--CSI came to be BECAUSE of L&O. It was around 10 years before this whole crime show craze.
Also, David Cross is hella funny. I personally think they put him in this role to sort of shine a light on the absurdity of the whole Anna Nicole situation.

What I love is Cross saying, “Acting can be quite literally the easiest job in the United States of America that you could possibly have. And Criminal Intent is a great example of that.[...] I’m not knocking these guys at all, but…there’s nothing to do. You memorize a page of dialogue—maybe—that’s an interaction, and you come in and say all the typical stuff that’s practically all exposition: ‘Yeah, but he had the photos at 12:30, which means somebody else [Pause] developed them.’ Even the characters have the easiest job because everyone sort of confesses.”
That may be so, but Cross sucked big time, proving that he cannot, in any way, shape, or form, do a decent job in a serious role.
Before you flame me, I loved Mr Show and own all of Cross' stand up albums. But the dude can't act for shit and his lack of work seems to have turned him into an even more bitter asshole than normal. Here's a clue, David; DO SOME FUCKING STAND UP. You're a comedian, remember? Either that or blow your brains out like Richard Jeni, 'cause no one cares about your bitching and fucking whining.
