SPENCER
Spencer (Sunset Rubdown) celebrated his birthday at Bowery Ballroom in NYC on Friday night (May 4, 2007). I unfortunately couldn't be there, but inourhands took some pics including this one of the (vegan?) birthday cupcake...

Sunset Rubdown @ Bowery Ballroom

DAN
Tickets are still on sale for the upcoming Handsome Furs shows in May. More music @ their MySpace. Album out on May 22nd. Dan also had a drum machine stolen which sucks.

DANTE
Billboard is reporting that" Wolf Parade guitarist Dante DeCaro has joined forces with percussionist Lindy Gerrard to form Johnny And The Moon, which will release its self-titled debut on June 12 via micro-indie Kill Devil Hills." CMJ is reporting that the album comes out October 24, 2007. The weird part is that Stereogum says it came out in October 2006 (Canada) and January 2007 (US). The label agrees with the October 2006 date. Pitchfork reviewed it in November 2006. OK.

SPENCER & DAN & & DANTE & EVERYONE

the sunset rubdown show was good but not up to par with the last time they played bowery... spencer said he was in a bad mood.. musically it was fine enough but there were definetly some funky vibes coming off the stage

Is anyone else stuck on a screen that looks like this? I'm having Arcade Fire waiting room flashbacks.

If you are trying to get tickets for WP, I think the "Busy, Busy" screen is a farce.

I had two screens up and got through after being kicked from order screen to sign in screen a few times.

Good luck.

Posted by MDK | May 8, 2007 11:54 AM

I have the same screen......

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2007 11:55 AM

same thing here

Looks like it's sold out now. What a crock of shit.

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2007 11:59 AM

Arcade fire said sold out but they weren't. I would keep trying...

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2007 12:02 PM

When you go back from that stupid waiting area it says:

"Timed Out
We're sorry, you ran out of time to place your order. Please try again later, or feel free to contact us for further help."

ARRRGGGGG

Posted by Anonymous | May 8, 2007 2:48 PM

Can anyone confirm the general sale of Wolf Parade at Warsaw on 5/11?

Posted by db | May 8, 2007 3:30 PM

Nice set at Bowery by Sunset Rubdown. Kind of upsetting that Carolline didn't bring more sticks to hit the xylophone, but in general a good show

Posted by Eduardo | May 8, 2007 11:02 PM

you mean camilla right??

there are rumors that sunset rubdown will be back in nyc very soon...

Posted by maria | May 10, 2007 2:21 AM

In my opinion i really think Wolf Parade was the most creative and catchy sound out of Spencer's few bands. Sunset's new album is alright. But i find myself skipping through most of it to find its select few hits. With Wolf Parade i felt as if i could listen to their albums without concern and enjoy it all. So basically come out with your next album conducted with Wolf Parade Spencer, we are all waiting.
