Am I really going to comment on a posting about comments on other postings? Yes, I believe I am.

I am going to comment on the comment on a posting about comments on other postings: yes you did.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2007 1:17 PM

Hahahah, no doubt I'll comment on past comments!!

I was sitting at my desk and crying laughing yesterday...literally, tears rolling down my face (got plenty of awkward looks from co-workers). I lost it when someone said something about a woman lifting up her dress and "showing ankle"...just amazing. Glad I could be a part of it.

It was a pleasure to have helped instigate that discussion.

That Beethoven stuff is really hilarious. Of course it all started with the Arcade Fire posts. Good ol' Arcade Fire:

Scroll down to Greg's 2:30pm post. I almost wet my pants when I read that. (I was anon 2:38/2:43!)

Ah, memories. I love BV.

i like you guys.

Yeah the beethoven thread was kinda funny although it went on too long. Like am SNl skit, it was beating a dead horse not too long after it started. But it was good for people who got shut out of going to see what should be an amazing Franz Ferdinand show have a place to vent some steam.

I agree with Drugs. Greatest line in the whole exchange:

"Did you all see that babe in the 3rd row who lifted her skirt above her ankle when she sat?

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2007 7:29 PM "

It almost gave me a heart attack.

someone else flag that as prohibited, when i see a line like this i want to punch this guy right in the scrotrum.

"E-mail me your your best offer please!! p.s. best offers means above face value so please dont' waste your time and mine by offering me anything less."

'Nietzsche Post Guy'. Shut up.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2007 2:10 PM

Anon 2:10: what a witty, on-point contribution!

Or you could, you know, go away. Nobody forced you to read BV.

this craigslist posting totally reeks of "i'm not a loser" as well:

"So here's the deal. I have an extra Franz ticket and have several people who would love it but Im feeling adventurous. I just got out of a 3 year relationship and would love to take a wonderful lady to the concert with me. It will either be extremely fun or unbelievably awkward. Either way, hilarity will ensue. My interests include sleeping, red wine and sarcasm. If this deal of the century interests you, shoot me an email and a pic.

P.S. I promise Im resonably attractive and your pic gets mine."

Bet the Cl guy gets a blow job or more from some hot young girl while most of you go home to your hand.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2007 4:02 PM

For the $200 the ticket is worth the CL guy should be getting more than a bj.

Question: If Beethoven were here today in nyc and in his 20's would he be a hipster?

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2007 9:57 PM

Hypothetical question: If Beethoven were here today in nyc and in his 20's would he be a hipster?

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2007 9:57 PM

Anon 9:57: That depends: Do you mean someone who has the exact same DNA Beethoven had and was born somewhere twenty-odd years ago, or do you mean the twenty-something Beethoven being transported through time? In the case of the latter, he would be considered by everyone else just some crazy homeless dude.

Posted by answer dude | June 8, 2007 10:07 PM

It's a mighty fine line between a hipster and a "crazy homeless dude."

Lang Lang is doing Beethoven covers at Lincoln Center tonight if anyone is interested.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2007 1:26 PM

it was four, the apology is 5, and this is 6.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2007 3:16 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, Beethoven has jumped the shark.

Posted by Anonymous | June 10, 2007 4:16 PM

No buddy, Beethoven will never jump the shark....long after you hipsters become grandparents and everyone has forgotten about the Yeah Yeah Yeah's (still remember them?), Beethoven's music will still live on...It's classic.

My question is, what happened to Motzart.
I mean, Beehtohven's gettting the love and fame, and Motzart, a child prodigy, gets mentioned once.
