Bad Brains are playing The School of Rock Festival in Asbury Park, NJ today (June 24). Tomorrow is their sold out NYC concert cruise aboard The Temptress. I rode the Temptress just this past Friday for the also-sold-out Weakerthans show which also the first show of the Rocks Off season. Not only were the Weakerthans great - so was the weather and the view. Here are two pictures I took off the side of the boat:

i wish people would get off the whole bad brains hates gays bullshit. yeah i know they wrote don't blow no bubbles and yes i saw the hr video on you tube but that was 20 years ago. peoples perspectives change in life, and hr is certainly not the same guy he was back then. get over it.

BV, I am so lucky that you like the Weakerthans, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have heard about the boat show, which was amazing. So thank you!

Last nights show on the Temptress was nothing short of Incredible- I had a fuckin' blaa-haast! I had doubts about the boat venue(Especially, when I was in line hangin' around that hot stinkin' ass pier) but now I can't think of a better place. The Temptess was a great scene! It was fuckin' amazing! The band was hanging out for an hour or two before the show, wandering around seperately. I'm sure a few people aside from myself out there have an HR story and an Earl, Daryll or Doc story. But what really made it memorable for me was smokin' out with ****** ******(Hey, no need to put the man on blast) before the show. We chatted for a few and the mother fucker was cool as shit. I was all set after that. Just good energy that night. A great set and the divine HR still has it because people where hangin' on his every word. Lots of Love in the house(uh, boat) Thanks Daryll, Earl, Doc and HR and all the peeps who came out for making this the best show I've ever been to. New album rocks so buy it- Brooke ( yellow Bad Brains shirt, black sleeves ,grey hat with black skull,D! Tho no longer on My space, Thx!!!)
