BEASTIE BOYS presale now ++ SECRET SHOW?
DOWNLOAD: Beastie Boys - Stop That Train (quarterbar Remix) (MP3)

Though I just mentioned the Summerstage show was on sale, I left out that McCarren Park is also on sale, and the part about it only being the pre-sale until Saturday (you know that if you've been reading the comments though). PASSWORD=MIXUP (thx all)
Also - is it true the McCarren Park show is the Beastie Boys' first Brooklyn show ever? (someone told me that) And is it true that the Beastie Boys will be playing a second Brooklyn show soon - possibly at Studio B in early July - not long after the June 26th release date of their new instrumental album The Mix Up?
BONUS QUESTION: On August 9th: Are you going to Beastie Boys @ McCarren Pool in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, OR Daft Punk @ Keyspan Park in Coney Island, Brooklyn, OR The Hold Steady @ Pospect Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn, OR The Black Crowes @ Central Park Summerstage, OR none of the above?

$50! That is a lot of money. Especially after the fees.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 11:16 AM
I guess is a function of the huge venues, but it's nice to be able to go on-line and get tickets so easy.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 11:19 AM
Got my tix for McCarren Pool....hopefully I can tread water for two hours.
Posted by Tremags | June 15, 2007 11:22 AM
Will everybody quit it about the price of the tickets aready! How much did you spend to see that crappy ass band Arcade Fire @ Radio City, I'll bet it was close to $50.

I would have wanted to see them at McCarren Pool, but I already have tickets to Daft Punk. :(

Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 12:26 PM
just walked by irving, kate moss is first in line for white stripes sale tomorrow.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 12:30 PM
$50 is obscene for a show in a public fucking park. Hopefully this is the last summer Live Nation will be lining their pockets via our tax dollars. Maybe next year they can put on some shows on the Staten Island ferry and charge $50 for that.
Posted by anonymous | June 15, 2007 12:41 PM
is there really a line outside irving right now? if so, how many people?
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 12:43 PM
Hah, is that true about Kate Moss?!? That's crazy. Can someone get a pic and post it?
After fees, I'm looking at a $60 ticket for Beasties? Man, that hurts.
Posted by Drugs Delaney | June 15, 2007 12:46 PM
I'm thinking Kate Moss might be on the door for that one.
Posted by Jason | June 15, 2007 1:10 PM
Beethoven's doing a secret in-store at Soundfix--his new all-instrumental stuff isn't so good, but hes supposedly doing "Eroica" again as an encore.

No Sleep Till Vienna!
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 1:46 PM
Daft Punk? Coney Island? The rock from the cave entrance will be rolled away to let loose a thousand guidos from babylon long island dancing in a sweaty baseball field to their anthem "One More Time." No thanks.

BV:
Also - is it true the McCarren Park show is the Beastie Boys' first Brooklyn show ever? (someone told me that)
Do you mean, post-mega fame Beasties?
There's the slight possibility the Beasties played Brooklyn when they were in their early "hardcore" punk phase and incarnation.
I never saw them in Brooklyn back in the day - you know, ROIR label, very early 80s etc. - but I did see them play Mudd Club.
Posted by rnrrenegade | June 15, 2007 2:15 PM
no frat boy guido's at beasties? that will be the day!
daft punk/rapture will be the NYC show of the summer!
yeah something tells me that the bboys have def played brooklyn before.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 2:20 PM
Was the Beethoven joke ever funny? Because I don't remember that.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 2:21 PM
Waidaminute, this Daft Punk group are the ones that sang that fucking great song "One More Time" back in the day? You better not be busting my balls, jerkoff.

Geez - I swore I saw them there (iirc, along w/Reagan Youth and some other bands).
Maybe I'm confusing my clubs and venues, but I definitely saw them back in the day.
But, you know, everything was still up-in-smoke ;)

the never-played-in-brooklyn line appeared in a small piece in yesterday's daily news: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music/2007/06/14/2007-06-14_beasties_finally_hitting_brooklyn.html. if that info was regurgitated from the press release and the beasties checked the release first, i'd assume they'd know where they've played.
maybe those people outside irving plaza this morning were under the impression that tickets were going on sale today, as reported on several blogs.
Posted by eddy | June 15, 2007 4:06 PM
Be sure to buy a corn dog or funnel cake at the daft punk show.
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 4:15 PM
so who's gonna get in line at 6am or so tomorrow morning?
say 'I'
Posted by Anonymous | June 15, 2007 4:41 PM
"What's crazy is thinking Kate Moss is really lining up to get a ticket."
I took the original mention of Kate Moss to mean that someone who bears quite a striking resemblence to Kate Moss was first in line for tickets.
Posted by wah wah | June 15, 2007 4:56 PM
If anything, Kate Moss needs to be standing in line for a hamburger.

"Coney Island High.. under the name 'Quasar'"
This is their first brooklyn show. Coney Island High is a venue down on St Marks.

scalpers sure do work fast. do they just buy tickets to everything, and then hope that the show sells out?
Posted by Anonymous | June 16, 2007 4:04 PM
Daft Punk...Beastie Boys. No comparisons. Beastie Boys shows sold out in one day. Both show capacities can fill keyspan park. Tickets for daft punk still available.

Los Amigos Invisibles in Pier 54...
Posted by Anonymous | August 9, 2007 10:04 PM
Awesome show. Simply awesome. Not quite as long as we expected, but rewarding nevertheless.
Then come the beer lines.
It better have been a quality show, seeing as how I had to watch well-over half the show, from the beer line.
Waited in line for nearly an hour, only to find out that beer in that line was SOLD OUT. Then waited in a different line, then the beer ran out there too.
An entire Beasties show, and not one sip of beer.
WE HAVE $90 WORTH OF UNCASHED BEER TICKETS.
WHERE THE F**K DO WE REDEEM THESE??!!!
The people at the beer and ticket stands laughed at us like idiots when we asked about cashing them in. NIce f**ckin' attitude!!
I don't know who droped the ball on this. Was it Live Nation? Was it the the Brooklyn Brewery?
Need action here!
It's called Gratitude! And that's right!
