CALIFONE or THE SEA & CAKE tonight?
The Sea & The Cake @ Paradise Rock Club in Boston - June 5, 2007 (CRED)

Two big indie rock tours hit NYC tonight - Califone is at the Gramercy Theatre, and The Sea & Cake is at Webster Hall. Which do you choose? Tonight is also The Veils and Dinosaur Jr.

It's a shame the Gramercy is associated with Blender. Will Avril Lavigne's tits be making an appearance at the Califone show?

i'm a fan of califone and quite surprised they could possibly sell enough tix to come close to filling gramercy? sea and cake even a stretch maybe? the opening band The Zincs are quite ace. sort of a nick cave/stuart staples/national vibe going on with them. john mcentire recorded the album and you can hear whole thing here. it's their 2nd. http://thrilljockey.com/catalog/?id=100625

I am going to see Califone tonight. The theatre is GA. Does anyone know if it is standing GA or seated GA? I have never been to the Gramercy Theatre.

sea and cake are great. there was an overflow crowd at sound fix the night before - people listening from the street. it was a cool scene. califone is good too. all these bands are good. i'm not at any of them right now but maybe i should be.
