I loved "The Back Room", but their new album is just so awful.

Biffy Clyro are on these dates too which rules. They were killer at that "In The City" thing

Webster Hall? I think I'll pass.
Bands like Editors are the losers here.
NYC needs a better mid-size venue. OK, I get it. Mercury and Bowery are too small and Roseland and Irving might still be too big for them but Webster Hall is atrocious. The sound sucks, the staff is terrible and the drinks are overpriced.
Solutions, anyone?!?

Irving and Webster are the same size genius. Keep acting like you're in the know.

yes, the wiltern in l.a. seems like too big of a venue for them.

irving is about 1300 and webster is about 1400. editors sold out irving last year but it didn't sell out for a good three weeks or so.
i expect them to sell out webster hall eventually but you scalpers shouldn't expect too much of a premium. depressing "introspective" bands touring in support of their even more depressing sophomore album is dead money if you ask me.

Saw them at San Diego Street Scene last year and they were fantastic. I hope the new album can compare to the last.
Have you heard the new VHS or Beta songs? They have 2 on their myspace page and they suck.. so disappointingly..

That Mercury Lounge show was the truth. Probably the most energy in that room I saw all last year...fuckers were actually moving instead of folding thier arms over thier ironic t-shirts.

They'd be perfect at somewhere like the Knitting Factory I feel. It's not just about capacity, guys, it's about feel. You're right about Webster and their shitty sound and even worse for drinks.

Rarariot opening for them in NYC. Couldn't make it to the Webste Hall show last time, but their gig at the Mercury was amazing

I saw them in Detroit last year, and they were good. As for the new album, it's great. Bunch of knobs...

God damn Editors were fantastic tonight..

I totally agree, Editors were great last night at Webster Hall... I can't stand Biffy Clyro or whatever they are called, they were awful. I wasn't familiar with their music before... they weren't bad musicians but the music they were playing... especially the stuff with the really long openings... ughhh... the drummer was very good though, I do like it when drummers sing.
Editors were great, 1st time seeing them, the sound @ webster was very good too. I've only been to webster 1x before for a show, Bronx, Converge, Mastodon about 1 year ago, and I was afraid that since the doors opened @ 6pm they would rush thru everyone... Seems like they didn't. Editors were on a little less than an hour and a half. Editors new CD isn't nearly as good as the 1st, but live they just bring so much energy to that shit you have to like it. Singers toying with his hands/arms so much is a bit too much, at least way too much repeated but when he dances around and jumps up on the piano that shit is great.
Missed Ra Ra Riot except last 30 seconds of their set, but they seemed pretty good.
