Amy Winehouse & The Rolling Stones

Tickets are on sale Friday for a September 12th Central Park Summerstage show starring the one and only Amy Winehouse with special guest (blah) Paolo Nutini. It's the first date of a short tour they're going on here in the United States. Can anyone recommend some good Chinese in the area?

Amy plays some festivals in Canada a few days earlier. All tour dates, and more pictures & video of Amy & The Rolling Stones, below....

Amy's (tour) rider is hysterical, really - requesting recommendations for Mexican, Chinese, Grill - as well as pizza, but not wishing for it to be of the fast food variety.

Sure, yes, there exist upscale culinary approaches to prep of the above - as well as sophisticated but affordable - however, her tastes would appear to be of the rather trashy variety.

YMMV.

Like many, I could recommend establishments to joints, but since it's really about the music, instead of pining for a cover duet (with she and Paulo) of either "Love in Vain" or "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" revisited, in light of her above demands, perhaps the yearned for Stones (related) cover should be, "Bitch," instead.

Unless, of course, Hubert Sumlin's at the show, jumps up to slay the six, then I'd more than welcome a cover of "Love In Vain."

For those of us with password access (whether the FREE from ticket purchase, or vis-a-vis fan club membership) to the Stones' website - particularly to the 'Virtual Ticket' page - last I knew, the duet may be seen and heard in video format.

do you need a password for the presale?

"Paolo Nutini"

The Scottish Sanjaya (with a little Tuscan for good measure)?

How is he any less of a Julian Casablancas-type?

Just trade in the modeling agency for a Fish & Chips shop.

$45?!?!?! fuck that!

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 10:57 AM

When is the pre-sale on Thursday? There's no info at TM.

Posted by mc | June 19, 2007 11:02 AM

$45 is expensive but thats the price of every summerstage show. beastie boys were like $50...

wonder if there is a presale password necessary for thursday

"When is the pre-sale on Thursday? There's no info at TM"

Maybe I hallucinated that? If it was there, it's gone now. Changing to just regular ticket sale starting Friday. thx

Posted by brooklynvegan | June 19, 2007 11:14 AM

nah, they just changed the page a minute ago...it said presale thursday, now its just on sale friday

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 11:27 AM

big difference between amy winehouse and beastie boys. ones a buzz singer the other are legends. and i seriously don't think the new pornographers/frames show last year was more than like $35... and amy ain't worth more than them.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 12:19 PM

she may not even show

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 12:22 PM

Summerstage is GA, so don't worry about the pre-sale. It's not going to sell out for at least a couple days.

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 12:31 PM

Anon 12:31pm-" It's not going to sell out for at least a couple days"

Is this the same genuis who told everyone that they could get to Irving Plaza by 9am for White Stripes tickets and would definately get a ticket??????

This show at Summerstage is going to sell out very very quickly on Friday.

Believe That

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 1:46 PM

There is a big difference between the White Stripes at Irving Plaza and Amy Winehouse at a huge venue like Summerstage.

she's gonna sell it out.

as it's been noted, she is the buzz girl du jour, and she's got "cred," as well as the fact that she's managed to cross over into camp vanilla: whether or not she intended to.

the only act who could save summerstage from becoming (any) more bland, would be, iggy & the stooges.

Posted by rnrrenegade | June 19, 2007 3:07 PM

It will sell out, just not on Friday. It will take a week.

there's so much music in the world...amy winehorse is a one trick pony. can we talk about somebody other than amy, voxtrot, panda bear? rolling stones suck btw...
hope yr well!

Posted by jason331/3 | June 19, 2007 10:02 PM

Mick is old enough to be Amy's grandpa...

Posted by Anonymous | June 19, 2007 10:19 PM

Did I just say "rolling stones suck btw?"

That was a typo of course because naturally I would be out of my mind to write that.

What I meant to write was "I would love to suck the rolling stones because that's how good they are and that's how gay I am."

Posted by jason331/3 | June 21, 2007 12:10 AM

wow...someone here loves the (truly horrible) Rolling Stones so much, that they decided to steal my name and post the above comment. way to go. yr a true hero. you must also be some kind of mad genius. name one good song that the Rolling Stones have written in the last 30 years. or better yet, just insult me for having an opinion.

Posted by jason331/3 | June 21, 2007 10:13 AM

"name one good song that the Rolling Stones have written in the last 30 years."

"Undercover"

Posted by Anonymous | June 21, 2007 10:34 AM

Wow...someone here hates the (truly influential) Rolling Stones so much that they decided to steal my name and post the second to last comment claiming that my name was stolen. Even after I retracted my original dumbass statement 6/19 10:02PM. The amount of work that the stones put out in the last 30 years is phenomenal.

...Anywho, back to feeding my 3 darling little cats. Did anyone happen to catch that fab quiche recipe that rachel ray made on her show today?

Posted by jason331/3 | June 21, 2007 8:16 PM

I'm pretty sure that's Sarah Silverman on stage w/ Mick in the 2nd picture.
Name a good Stones song from the last 30 years? Little T & A.
