Pretty funny. Free tickets but even I won't pay the $5.00 convenience fee ticketmaster charges for each ticket to see Ted Nugent. BV again proves that it doesnt discriminate even towards the red meat eating, bow hunting lifestyle that is Ted Nugent. The irony is that most of his fans would never think about going to this site.

Funny, I clicked too with slight interest in a free ticket but said no after the $5 fee...

Nugent: a Joke. Politically, musically, and in every other way possible.

Posted by c | June 20, 2007 11:33 PM

Imagine the suckers paying the extra $28.50 for ticket itself without the fees.

Who's this guy now? I just came on to check for Bad Brains tid bits.

Posted by Anonymous | June 20, 2007 11:50 PM

"Wacked" politics or not, the guy can actually play some pretty mean guitar.

Regarding BV's Sub-line, well, at first, I thought it was (yet again) about Morrissey's undersold MSG show: but BV used much gentler phrasing about how La Moz can't sellout the Big Room ;)

Anyway, anyone else here attended Yoko Ono's Q & A with Anthony DeCurtis, at the Y on Monday night?

Remember - if no Yoko, no B-52s, no Kate Bush, no Bjork, so take THAT you indie freaks! ;)

Dandy song by Goldfinger off their album "Open Your Eyes" called FTN. Funny cos' it's true.

Nothing wrong with the Nuge. If he was a tofu slayer instead of meat hunter, you'd give him the proper respect.

Stranglehold is a great song.

yeah, i was tempted but then saw the surcharges. i'd rather give my $10 to someone else. or see either superchunk or sloan this sunday.

what i can't deny though is that he used to be alright, if in a limited, somewhat retarded sort of way:

Good points, Anon.

Now BV's got me thinking about this.

Never saw The Nuge, and I passed up those bills with Aerosmith, back in the day.

And, it would be a pretty surreal experience - The Neo-Con Nuge in the midst of what used to be the sleaziest strip in Midtown!?

Plus, he plays guitar, and a lot of it, at that: something that's lacking in a lot of today's music.

Why he wasn't booked at Irving or Bowery instead, is beyond comprehension, but if the gig should sellout, all props should go to BV! ;)

Live music should be fun - not a running commentary and second rate regurgitation of CNN and Nightline.

Judging by some of the reactions to BV's post, it would appear that non-Nuge fans take him way more seriously than either he or his fanbase ever would.

That's fun, and funny.

Of course, fun is a relative term, but it's obvious that, while a lot of people may know how to spell the word, a lot of people don't have much of it.

Here's to your cat scratch fever: or, may you at least experience some!

I doubt you're right: Amboy Dukes.

So, you used to read CREEM, too?

Ever see a gig at Cobo Hall?

You know what's not fun? Catching some of the Nuge's slobber if you're standing too close to the stage. I'm not kidding - The guy's a human saliva fountain in concert.
You know what is fun, though. Making fun of this jackass. The guy's a fucking NRA card carrying bush supporter and he spouts off on his shit any chance he gets. So, to call him on it isn't a regurgitation of CNN, it's good clean fun.

Ted Nugent - the original Man vs Wild

Sorry BV, but if i was stranded in the woods - i'd hope Ted was there over you.

Now then, if i was stranded at the Knitting Factory, well - that'd be a different story altogether.

I saw Nugent at Irving Plaza in 2001 - he was great. I'm going to this. Thanks for the tip-off.

Aside from the fact that Nugent is a glorified idiot (think Beavis & Butthead as one person), he was a great musician. His "Double Live Gonzo" is one of the meanest rock album ever made. Fun House is at the top of my list, but Gonzo is not far behind...

Tried to see The Nuge Sunday night, but it didn't work. But he puts on a helluva loud, fun show. Can't be that different from when I saw his show four years ago in NYC:

My wife and I saw Ted last week. He rocked the house. Our ears were ringing 24 hours later. Ted is awesome. Great rock and roll, great hunter, great attitude.

Vegans with misdirected anger make animal lovers angry.

Nugent 45,000,001
Vegans 1 (point only awarded because of their support for "shelters" and "rights organizations" that have killed more defenseless domesticated animals than the wild animals Nugent has eaten.)

i dont know why im on here but i just seen teds name and clicked ant just to make this clear you may hate me already cuz im conservative pro guns and war BUT im not on here to argue anytimg i went to a ted show thought it was great up un till i met the asshole. this is a guy that i agree with in all ways this guy dose not give a shit about the ones how put the food on his plate (or in this case the bullets in his guns) i meet a lot of bands and all were great people ted is non of that i asked him if he can get a photo with me he gave his a nod his bodyguards shove me out of the way. So he can get in his limo(a fellow Republican!).” ”he cowards from his fans. this guy is seen as a mans man but he crawls in a limo to hide from only one fan that just wants a photo! ted just plays a role and gets payed doing it he isent what hes cracked up to be hes a fake.

Ted's a chicken hawk.

That's someone who is a hawk now that he is past draft age, but was a coward when they were younger.

According to the Nuge: "He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days, he ingested nothing but Vienna sausages and Pepsi; and a week before his physical, he stopped using bathrooms altogether, virtually living inside pants caked with his own excrement, stained by his urine. That spectacle won Nugent a deferment"- Detroit Free Press Magazine , July 15, 1990

Here is a dude who claims to love killing things.

Yeah, as long as they don't shoot back at him.

Puts the Nuge's shit in perspective.

Posted by I served in the military, Ted didn't | October 16, 2007 3:29 PM

Vegans, you are ignorant regarding Nugent's public service over the years. Yes, he probably did dodge the draft, but he has more than made up for that.

You don't see Nugent ripping Vegans simply because they are Vegans. Those of you who choose to rip someone because they hunt and eat meat are very little people.

I work with a bunch of Vegans, and they have one thing in common. They get sick ALL THE TIME. They all look down on those of us that eat meat as though we were stupid cavemen.

Speaking his mind to his audience is no different than you posting here. You guys are just afraid of facing the fact that Ted represents the frustration of mainstream Americans who are continually forced to keep our mouths shut so that we don't offend overly-sensitive people who have chosen a lifestyle that is non-conventional.

Deal with it.

Ted Nugent may attract some of the uneducated rednecks "Bubba's" I realize that Rednecks get a bad rap.
Don't you be fooled Ted is as well spoken as any politician and he's smart as any one I've ever met. He is drug free and has strong morals.
In fact if he ran for President I would vote for him in a heartbeat.

He's also an awesome guitarist and his shows are a lot of fun to go to.

Charlie Daniels wrote a song

"What the world needs is a few more Rednecks people who aren't afraid to take a stand"

When I grow up I want to be just like Ted Nugent

"The Nuge" has a lttle pee-pee, I guess he's gotta compensate for his "short-commings" by being a maniac and a complete ASS!!!
His music ain't that hot anyhow...
Hey... some guys in his situation buy fancy sport cars!!!
Teddy-boy... BIG GUNS... oooo, what a mannn.... (sarcastic!)

Posted by juniper | May 29, 2008 11:16 PM

Ted Nugent's a hack. Nice guy? Maybe, but dull as a doorknob, like most of his fans.

Posted by Anonymous | May 29, 2008 11:42 PM

He's been riding on that one record for, like, 40 years.

Posted by Anonymous | May 29, 2008 11:42 PM

To discuss Ted is one thing...everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if they are wrong...but to degrade his fans is going a bit too far!
I've seen Ted twice now and his guitar talent is unequaled. The older he gets the more more refined his playing gets and the harder he rocks!

Ted Nugget called Jerry Garcia the worst guitarist he's ever heard. I have never seen a Ted Nugent do a jazz, country or bluegrass influenced recording. Garcia played guitar, pedal steel, banjo & mandolin. Garcia was an incredible musician, Nugget head had no place cutting him down. Garcia was a better man and just ignored it. Ted was/is a one trick pony for rauchy overdriven rock who can't even sell out arena's anymore. He also can't sing! Ya, he should stick to as bow and gun.

Posted by Anonymous | April 3, 2010 8:05 AM

WTF? "the Nuge" is one of THE worst guitar players I've ever heard, 2nd to Neil Young. Strangleholds' lead is fucking annoying. He hasnt gotten much better. The guys a publicity fucker, small minded and given to egomania. Fuck him and his fans.

Ted Nugent sucks.

Posted by Think About It | December 8, 2010 4:51 PM

He's been nearly as cruel to music as he's been to animals. Damn Yankees says it all. The man sucks. Draft-dodger that lived in his own excrement to flunk his medical.

Posted by Chris | March 14, 2011 11:47 PM

Ted Nugent is the biggest piece of shit in the world. He Wiped his ass with the AMerican Flag to get out of VietNam. Absolutely true. ALSO WAS A RAPIST OF YOUNG GIRLS. Ted knows about as much about politics as he does about music...... NOTHING!
He thinks being a loud mouth makes him right. He is a sissy draft dodger and a terrible guitar player.

Ted came down to florida, could not even fill a few rows at a small venue here. And this is Florida "The gun State" Truth is the best Nugent music was written by the other guitarist in the band that Nug never gave credit to. Wanker first class, thats why republicans love him

Ted Nugent is an atrocity. A draft-dodging one-hit wonder and a one-trick pony. If wants to shoot and kill things, why did he do everything he could possibly do to dodge the draft. HE'S SO BRAVE, SHOOTING HELPLESS CRITTERS. There's a special place in hell for his type. Coward !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
