The Horrors @ Pianos, NYC - pics
The Horrors' "secret show" at Pianos started late on a week night, but I was in the neighborhood anyway. Plus - despite many chances in the past, I still hadn't seen the UK buzz band live. I'm glad I went. Musically they might not be that great, but they definitely know how to put on a show...
...a dangerous and really loud, but entertaining, punk rock, show. More at Flickr.

Damn. I was considering heading over after Interpol too, but didn't. These shows need a We're-Starting-Super-Late warning.

total garbage...who cares about stage presence if the music is crap. Kings of Leon is where the real rock show was last night!

Does anyone have the set list from the KOL show last night? Great show...not such a big fan of the venue tho. It feels like you're seeing a show in a really big hotel lobby.

Yeah...they do look great and put on a fun show, but the music is just terrible.

The album sounds fine but the live sound is terrible. But unlike so many other UK buzz bands, these kids are in no way up their own asses... they just look like they're having fun and fucking around. And yes, they are trying to channel the cramps, but last time I checked, the Cramps were about 150% tongue in cheek themselves...

I saw them at Luna Lounge and it was one of the worst live shows I've seen...the band has no charisma.....

damn BV this is a fantastic shot. & i agree 100% about your statement about the horrors not being so great musically but knowing how to put on a show!i should've gone last night myself - heard it was a lot of fun
