WE ARE SCIENTISTS - new songs, new name, new haircuts

~~We are Scientists~~ Beat Up Old Fellas - June 9, 2007 (CRED)

"Beat Up Old Fellas was a fake moniker for We Are Scientists to try out some new songs on an unsuspecting crowd. They introduced the songs with titles like 'Altered Beast" and 'Russian Attack' and said they were heading into an LA recording studio to begin work on the new album next week." - tigerkatie

What label they'll be releasing the album on is less clear than the name of their band, and yes, that is HIM in the picture.

Wow, LOVE these guys! They're so funny! Did they have anything really snappy to say at the show? They're so sarcastic I just love 'em! I really really really do. Just kidding. So where's the good music at these days?

I was at the show on Saturday and contrary to the previous commentator, I thought the new stuff was fantastic.

i was at the show on friday and for me, the new stuff was a little bit different, but i loved it, maybe even more than WLAS.
Im guessing they should be done with the album around late august/early september at the latest, considering they leave today for California to record.

I don't fully understand it, but I think it has something to do with how their label books them and where they're allowed to play. Like, they opened for Art Brut at Irving as "Art Brut 47" because their label would only book "We Are Scientists" at Irving as a headliner. Or something.

WAS were pretty good, but The Teeth's album release show was the real draw of the night.
