Who stayed all 27 hours at the Bang on a Can marathon?
The 26-hour Bang on a Can Marathon took place this past weekend at the World Financial Center in NYC.
6am @ the 26 Hour Bang on a Can Marathon, NYC - June 3, 2007 (CRED)

Bang on a Can turned 20 this year. Marking the occasion it mounted its most audacious offering to date: scheduling a 26-hour marathon from Saturday night at 8 to Sunday night at 10. The performance was staged at the Winter Garden of the World Financial Center, a co-production with the primarily pop-oriented River to River Festival and arts>World Financial Center.........By Sunday morning the schedule had slipped by nearly an hour; even with one piece omitted near the end, the event ultimately clocked in at 27 hours 10 minutes. the real question is how many people left after 5 minutes? Bang on a Can was probably one of the wurstest bands I've ever seen live. I wanted to bang on their testicals when I saw them open for Daniel Johnston

bang on a can isn't a band. the bang on a can all-stars are a band. bang on a can is a collective of composers. they also have a record label.

"they blow worser than john kerry"
Did we enter a time warp, is is suddenly 2004 again? I think Kerry is as big of a pussy as the next guy, but didn't the statue of limitations on Kerry references end about 30 months ago?
(P.S. Rulezzzzzzzzz only has 12 z's, not 14, you dumb-ass)

haha, i can vouch for DJA. i have photographs from like 20 hours of the event that I am putting up this weekend. it was awesome and exhausting.

awesome and exhausting are not the 2 words I would think describe this "event". i would probably use like ear-rape or something along those lines.

I happened to walk past when those 2 guys were playing the 30 foot long pipes. I couldn't run fast enough out of there.

eighteen musicians playing one of steve reich's most beautiful compositions as the sun came up? i cannot think of many things more sublime. if you were not there, you simply missed it.
