DOWNLOAD: 1990's - You're Supposed to be My Friend (MP3)

1990s are a rock band from Scotland, who, as you may have noticed, came out with a new album this week called Cookies. Stream some of it using their handy e-card. Listen to more at MySpace.
From the Kinks to the Troggs, right up to Franz Ferdinand and Maxïmo Park, fun lovin’ and hard drinkin’ Brits have been able to get away with a lot, moptops or no. For a non-music related example, take a look at the storied history of Hugh Grant if you doubt the redemptive power of big eyes and a “what, me worry?” shrug. 1990s is the newest addition to the cheeky monkey galaxy—propelled by choppy guitars and a whole lot of charm, Cookies will make you get up and get your ass onto the dance floor, so long as no one slaps it first...[PopMatters]1990s are playing THREE shows in NYC this week - including one TONIGHT (July 31) w/ Cause-Co-Motion!, and then they're going to DC, California, etc.....

Agreed, anonymous, agreed. I especially liked when they'd use their songs on the WB in the ads for Full House syndicated re-runs. But, do we need *another* Big Audio Dynamite?

what's up with the big audio dynamite comparisons?!? agreed about 1990s being a pretty dumb name but go see them live before you start hating.

Saw them at Mercury last night - OK, not great. Guitar player had good stuff, but drummer needs to find more than one tempo/style. All the songs seemed samey to me.

They're a fun party band, clever lyrics, good hooks, smiles on their faces. Good times!
Jackie the singer is a funny guy too, check our interview with him in the June issue for a few laughs
