They are playing with The Coral (at least in NYC). Does anyone know if The Coral are also going to play a solo show that week at the Bowery or Webster Hall? Would love to avoid buying an (expensive) Arctic Monkeys ticket if possible.

So sad that I'm gonna be out of town during this.

k so what's the difference btw RUMSEY PLAYFIELD and Central Park Summerstage??!?!?!??!!? and what are the capacities for both???? or is it the same?

Posted by k? | July 18, 2007 11:27 AM

I have a question--If it starts at 5 i think? What time do theyll be over? If its only them playing it cant be too late right? I start school the next day and I dont want to come home super late.

k?, one's a summer festival and one's the venue location. So summerstage is a misnomer for the rumsey playfield but capacity for both types of events are same. (but there's not an official number, but a quick google search says 5000-5500) basically the same people run everything at the venue, but for things that are just labeled rumsey playfield, there are outside guys (ie: bowery presents or live nation people) who also does extra stuff.

thanks so much for clarification! and for lyndsay im sure it will be over before your bedtime...it will be over by 10pm

Posted by k! | July 18, 2007 1:20 PM

lindsay, all events at rumsey playfield have curfews of 10 because it's in the park and because rich people living on 5th avenue will complain.

Hah yes, it will be over before my bedtime. thank you

The Coral are playing Mercury Lounge the night before..Bummer as I'll be out of town..

Posted by Anonymous | August 14, 2007 11:12 PM

The Mercury Lounge Coral show has now been cancelled. Visa problems?

Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 3:18 PM

must be..they are off the show supporting the monkeys at summerstage as well..per bowery presents..no mention on the coral's site..

Posted by Anonymous | August 22, 2007 4:01 PM

i knew the coral at the mercury lounge was too good to be true.

also, whats with ticketmaster not giving a full refund? if i'm not mistaken, ticketweb used to refund all fees. granted we're only talking a couple of bucks, but still, it's the principle.

Funny..the first time I saw The Coral was 2002 opening for Supergrass in Phily..You would have thoughtthey were gonna be the next big thing the way the kids were mad for them..
