ask LES SAVY FAV a question
DOWNLOAD: Les Savy Fav - The Equestrian (new album MP3) (also)

LES SAVY FAV's new album Let's Stay Friends comes out on Frenchkiss Records on September 18th, and LES SAVY FAV are playing the 100% FREE Citysol show in NYC THIS SATURDAY! - July 14, 2007!! (1pm-10pm) on a solar-powered stage. Also on the bill: Land of Talk, The Besnard Lakes, O'Death, OCDJ, The Budos Band, These are Powers, and Frankpollis. More Citysol (a 4-day festival) details HERE and HERE. (btw, wanna volunteer?)
AND...to keep excitement high, I've asked the band if they would answer a few fan questions. They said "yes". So, let's do it. Do you have something you want to ask Tim Harrington and/or the rest of Les Savy Fav? If so, e-mail your question to BVCONTESTS@HOTMAIL.COM (subject: LSF), and I'll forward it on to them. Act quick - I'll be posting answers - to as many as possible - each day this week.

Is there a schedule for Saturdays concert? Since the concert ends at 10pm, will LSF go stage after 8pm?

"Is there a schedule for Saturdays concert? Since the concert ends at 10pm, will LSF go stage after 8pm?"
yes, coming soon, and yes.
"hey bv - could you say anything about capacity please? should we expect craziness on saturday? the place doesn't seem that large... thanks!"
It might be a little crazy, yeah. I forget the capacity - I'll find out. I am afraid that people who show up late won't get in to the actual show part, though the entire park is about five blocks long. -- ""Stuyvesant Cove Park is located along the East River between 18th and 23rd Streets. Solar One sites in the north end of the park, near the 23rd Street entrance."?

Agreed re: schedule and capacity. 9hrs is a long time to stand around outside in the summer.

Damn I love this band.

The place is tiny. However, the faraway location will deter many. There is no subway close by and the bus will pretty much be non-existant after 8pm on a Saturday. Forget about finding a taxi as well.
Can't wait!

"The place is tiny."
mmm... that's too bad. the location might deter some, but seems like it's still going to be pretty crazy crowd-wise...

"The place is tiny"
Not true.

the location is not far or tiny. Here's the official statement about it:
"the immediate blacktop space at solar one where the stage is holds approximately 1500 people -- the total site of citysol expands beyond this -- 18th to 23rd street on the east river. there will be two entrances to the blacktop -- from 23rd street and through stuyvesant cove park on the south end. people who dont make it to the blacktop for capacity reasons are welcome to enjoy other components of the festival from the rest of the site"

thanks for clearing that up, bv.

can't wait to see these are powers!

The park is long and narrow. The actual space for a crowd in front of the little house is not THAT big. And it is a trek from the 6.

Any word on set times? Eight hours is a long time.
