Beach House is alright. I recommend that everyone check out 70's British folk trio Tony, Caro and John, from which Beach House borrowed a lot of lyrics for their "Lovelier Girl".

The Tony, Caro and John song is called "The Snowdon Song" and it's on their only album, "All On The First Day". It's a really sweet love song on an incredibly charming folk album.

Not to be a know it all- I've just enjoyed this immensely over the years and wanted to share.

Yes, Beach House do seem to have lifted Lovelier Girl wholesale from The Snowdon Song. The tune too. I'm quite flattered actually. -Tony (from Tony, Caro and John)

I was with Tony when he wrote this song. Interesting treatment but a complete rip off. Can't believe it. It's over 35 years old but not out of copyright. Interesting that they've claimed it as copyright on their album. No credits. No royalties. Nothing. I think he needs to take action. Or get a very sound explanation. Especially as it was even re-released years before the Beach House album.

Wow, ai must say Lovelier Girl is a total lift of Snowdon Song. Both lyrically and musically. Not something I'd do meself...whenever I've recorded cover versions I gave credit and paid the reasonable sum(s) required. At least one can't fault their taste...
This gathering looks upon them with alarm.

Wow - how strange! 'Lovelier Girl' is my favourite Beach House song, too. I'm a little baffled!
