Courtney Love playing intimate NYC show + played UK

Courtney Love @ Bush Hall, London - July 9, 2007 (CRED)
Courtney Love in London

Courtney Love just gave London a small birthday show full of new material, and now it's our turn. This should be nuts:

Courtney Love

Courtney Love - Live Show
Hiro Ballroom - Thursday July 12 - NO COVER WITH RSVP!!

This night is going to be insane.
Courtney is BACK - with a new album coming out soon, and London and Paris live shows under her belt.
We are teaming up with Rolling Stone Magazine to bring you this party - an intimate evening with Courtney Love and friends at Hiro Ballroom. Courtney will be performing live with a full band for the first time in New York in ages.
We are so excited we have lost all our ability to contain ourselves.

Drinks Specials:
Two-4-One Vodka drinks 10pm-11pm.
$8 Tiger-Beer-and-Whisky-Chaser-Combo, and $4 Sparks all night.

NO COVER ON GUEST LIST. CLICK HERE
(Sign-up is free and simple, but only one sign-up per person - no plus ones!!)
Dress Code: Rock'n'Roll
Space is limited - so we advise coming real early to avoid disappointment.

Hiro: 371 W16th St. at 9th Ave. Doors Open 10pm

Hopefully this turns out better than her last small NYC show. Also, keep in mind that RSVPing doesn't always mean you get in, and this show is at Hiro Ballroom - expect to wait on line, not get in, and be treated bad. That said, I think I might attempt it.

Too bad that it conflicts with the Maximo Park show. This would've been a no-brainer if Paul Smith and his crew weren't in town.

by 'intimate' does that mean there will be a daisy chain involved?

She did a video interview with NME after the show which is at http://themusic.fm

seeing Tim Fite at Union Hall, why would I give that up for this?

Posted by Anonymous | July 10, 2007 12:15 PM

I'm going to pass this time, thanks.

I RSVPed; it can't hurt. If she's good, it'll be awesome. If she sucks, it'll be a train wreck to remember.

too bad this conflicts with the nightly fox news.

seriously though, how is she of any interest to anyone anymore?

"Courtney Love" and "intimate" should never be contained within the same sentence.

I just listened to that song "Celebrity Skin" the other day on youtube. I always liked that song.

Posted by Drugs Delaney | July 10, 2007 1:49 PM

I wonder what other songs Drugs Delaney "always" liked?

Love it!!

"live through this" was a great album

Yeah I forgot to mention that I have pretty bad taste in music.

Does anyone know the exact capacity for Hiro Ballroom? I keep seeing different figures--from 100 to 400. On the RSVP list almost 800 people have signed up already, and it doesn't seem like they're putting a cap on it just like the Boredoms show.

Posted by Eric | July 10, 2007 2:23 PM

Not too sure what capacity is, but as BV stated above, those guest lists for Hiro are complete bullshit. They don't guarantee you anything.

Posted by Drugs Delaney | July 10, 2007 2:25 PM

Capacity is 400 for non-seated shows, but to be one of the first 400, you'll have to be in line very early.

"I wonder what other songs Drugs Delaney "always" liked?"

Courtney's a "vastly underrated songwriter" says Billy Corgan....

Over 2000+ (and still going up) on the rsvp list with only a 400 capacity? Gotta love it!

Posted by Anonymous | July 12, 2007 9:53 AM

They closed the list... but not before they collected nearly 3,000 email addresses.

Posted by Anon | July 12, 2007 8:23 PM

I hear you can still get a good experience watching it from the bridge.

Any news on how this show (or fiasco) turned out?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2007 10:06 AM

Don't know the details, but it appears there was a fiasco:

There was a fiasco at the door and the promoters along with the door people are F*cking a$$holes! Absolute dicks. They let in the first few hundred people at the door then as soon as we made to the front of the line we heard "We are at capacity, sorry we can't let anymore in." Ok fine, so be it that's a risk you take. HOWEVER, the horribly tiny and lead dickhead door guy/promoter, whoever, with black rimmed glasses decided that he would let in anyone that kissed his a$$ enough or whoever he wanted. Waste of time!
