What do all these things have to do with each other? This is what:

Three extraordinary evenings, nine exciting artists and it's FREE at 7 World Trade Center Park, Greenwich and Vesey Streets.

According to what you just posted, Nick Lowe is playing at the World Financial Center Plaza, which is a couple of blocks away.

I really don't see how they can have shows at 7 World Trade Center. There is no room for a stage, the little park is too small for a crowd, and there is a truck entrace to the pit right there.

what branch of barnes & noble is hold steady playing and what date?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2007 12:15 PM

actually, suzanne vega and lou reed played there and it wasn't a problem.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2007 12:43 PM

I'd I have to see it to believe it because I can't see this happeneing. Where's the room for all of this?

Posted by b.LOUD | July 25, 2007 1:15 PM

There is now a truck entrance where the stage was previously set up. And the previous shows were during the day, which means less people came out.

Then again, JellyNYC isn't organzing this one, so it probably will work out.

Holy crap, 9/17 is going to be rad.

Posted by Camp Tiger Claw | July 25, 2007 2:10 PM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2007 2:51 PM

wow, 8th comment before a "hold steady suck". You guys are slipping.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2007 3:14 PM

I'M COUNTING THE DAYS TO 9/17.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2007 4:42 PM

Old 97's are probably the best live band I have ever seen. Their shows are incredible. I can't wait to see them on the boat tomorrow.

"does anyone know what time the WTC shows are at on the 17th, 18th and 19th? for some reason i cant sem to find this tidbit anywhere"

It's almost two months away, just relax.

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2007 2:54 PM

i feel like lolla will be the first show illinois has done not in the city in like four months. i wish i could see them in sept. but i'll be away.

Posted by mandy | July 26, 2007 6:50 PM

i imagine they'd have to shut down the streets to have this at 7 WTC Park right? that's just a sliver of a park--barely big enough to hold a stage.

Posted by bk | July 29, 2007 9:47 PM

basically i just wanted to know when it is so id know if it would be when i was in class or not (so if i could actually go).

Posted by marc | July 30, 2007 1:35 AM

The Hold STEADY R amazing all the haters need to bow down and go to the show. So much negativity.

Posted by mean joe greene | August 29, 2007 3:59 PM

Set times for the bands Monday evening? 5:30, 6:30, 7:30...?

Posted by Eric | September 17, 2007 12:02 AM

I work in the area, and I noticed that all the posters promoting the event, which were placed about a few weeks ago, were all torn down late last week.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 8:44 AM

i will go to the show just so i can tell everyone next day how much they suck.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 10:20 AM

Can anyone confirm or deny that Chavez are playing this show? Also set times?

Posted by Nelson | September 17, 2007 11:07 AM

Why would Chavez perform?

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 11:39 AM

official start time is 5:30.

I've never seen Old 97s, can't wait. Seen the Hold Steady a million times, can't wait for them either.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 11:58 AM

Why would Chavez perform?

Because they are listed on Last.FM as playing. Is there any truth to this. NOTHING is listed online. Makes me feel like it's bullsh*t. It's unfortunate too because they'd make all the other bands on this bill look like the old men they really are.

Posted by steve | September 17, 2007 12:46 PM

Does anyone know the order that the bands are playing in? it appears that the Hold Steady is headlining, but the Old 97s have been around so much longer? any insight?

Posted by Tom | September 17, 2007 1:44 PM

Come on guys, this shit is pretty easy to figure out.

Someone even posted the link here to make it that much easier. Here it is again:

http://www.musicdowntown.com/index.html

Start time is listed there: 5:30pm.

All the bands, and the order they are playing in:
Illonois, Old 97's, and then The Hold Steady (it could be asked 'why is hold steady headlining?' but to say they are that act that could easily draw a bigger crowd is not the hardest thing to argue).

And Chavez guys?? Seriously? You're asking that, based on what some kid probably posted on last.fm (question that user-generated info). I mean, I could post on my myspace calendar that Ween was also playing tonight, but that wouldnt make it true, now would it?

Posted by OH MAN | September 17, 2007 2:02 PM

a shitty response to legitimate questions.

Posted by As expected | September 17, 2007 2:09 PM

The only legit question was the one as to why Hold Steady was headling over Old 97's.

Everything else could EASILY be answered by going to the above link.

How fucking useless are some of you people? I mean, commenting here (and asking questions) is a legimate way to answer questions people have about shows, set times, etc. Buy when people won't make the effort to look for things themselves before posting a question they could easily find themselves, well, that's just lazy. And I'm calling them out on it.

Admittly, there's no need for me to rip into them like this, but there's also less of a need for you to stick up for them.

Posted by OH MAN | September 17, 2007 2:17 PM

I work at 7 WTC, and saw some of the soundcheck. They have the stage facing eastward, closer to the pit. There really isn't much room directly in front or to the left of the stage, so almost everyone will be viewing the stage from an angle. Plus, with all the light fixtures and the large scultpture in the way, that mean most sightlines will be blocked. Good space for a more intimate concert, but it would be way too packed for tonights show. Other nights should be better.

Posted by Anonymous | September 17, 2007 2:20 PM

were Chavez at the soundcheck?

I heard from some college students, they could not grapple with music and movies essay paper. Nevertheless, is it difficult to hire some good custom papers writing firm to buy homework help from.
