Grizzly Bear looking snide?

I read a lot about this band (Grizzly Bear) but resisted based on the snide expression on a couple of their faces in a magazine. I can’t get past those first impressions easily. There’s so much music to listen to, so you narrow it down any way you can. I’ve missed out on a lot of stuff (probably based on arbitrary facial displeasure). They make really beautiful, evocative music that has a gauzy fuzziness to it; you can’t accurately pinpoint their place in time.....[Wilco's Jeff Tweedy for the NY Times]

I'd try listening to Deerhunter, but I can't get past the way that dude looks in a dress.

Yeah, it's hard to get past first visual impressions.

ah I get it now. I recommend either getting behind someone very tall or getting yourself very drunk so that you don't care anymore. they seriously do put on an amazing show. I don't think seaport will be the best place to see them but hopefully they'll do a smaller show the day before or after.

I'd try that but I'm 6'4" and don't drink...

hmmm, tough one. I guess just put on a blindfold and rock the fuck out!

hmm... some might even say if they saw jeff tweedy in the new filter magazine fake shooting himself in the head and with a series of "funny face" portraits that he looks like a total asshole and his music has completely lost all it's interest in the past 2 years...

Nice to see him giving props to young-ish bands in the Times rather than trying to impress with esoteric world music selections or other middle-aged fuddy-duddy stuff. He sounds genuinely excited by new music! Go Jeff!
