Yessss... you NY City bastards better actually wear your dancin' shoes for a change!

Posted by Beeeeeve | July 13, 2007 1:07 PM

i agree with the Beeeeeve. anyone with arms crossed blankly staring at the stage should be punched in the face.

cant wait! tickets!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you actually go to their show at Hiro? IT WAS AWFUL. AWFUL. AWFUL.

Maybe they can take a lesson from Simian Mobile Disco or Soulwax and construct a live show that is more than packing the stage with their entourage and doing some - dare I say it - sloppy DJ'ing.

Needless to say I'm going to go, but don't rush to chastise NYC for not being footloose. That show BLEW.

Yes I agree. Ive seen them at least 4 times, including Miami and their 1st show at Studio B. The Hiro ballroom event was SO UNDER PAR. I honeslty blame the space for this, and the crowd. The sound system at hiro is AWFUL for dance events - good for rock show but not for a 'club' system. Also the scene at Hiro is very "Look at me in my white shirt! I have business cards that say I'm a VP on them..." So not exactly the right place for them. That event SHOULD have been at Studio B...

If Justice is reading this, play Houston.

Webster is probably a CMJ show.

The live show is better than what went down at Hiro...

Any idea as to when tix go on sale?

Posted by Anonymous | July 13, 2007 7:38 PM

A little birdie told me this will be a "live show" with them using ableton, and some other stuff. Not a "DJ gig" per-se

HIRO show sucked. i was in the crowd- it was my fault?

I heard about Hiro, but when Kavinsky was in NY, when Justice came to NY, etc it was krzy packed and tons of fun

I plan on standing really still the entire concert and getting as close to the stage as possible with the rest of my tall friends who will do the same. If things get crazy and I'm realling feelin it, maybe I'll throw in the occasional toe-tap. Not going to work myself up. Just there to enjoy the music. Others, feel free the dance.

Having caught the same DJ set tour that took em to Hiro's and their first "live" show at Coachella this year, they couldn't be more different.

(they also played almost nothing from the not even dated at that time "†")

If you like anything they've ever put out I recommend the live set whole heartedly.

Live set is all their mostly excellent output and none of the terrible other music put out by those they've inspired.

Justice can DJ as good as anyone in like 30 minute intervals, but can get extremely frustrating, anti-climactic and crowd torturing when allowed too much time, power over a crowd or distraction.

So again, live set = banging.
