BjorkRegular tickets go on sale Friday for Bjork's show at MSG. As previously announced, the presale was Wednesday. Did you get tickets through that? I was disappointed to find out the Klaxons are opening. I don't hate them - I just don't think they're very good live, and for whatever reason I don't associate them with Bjork. They're also not Antony.

haha yea BV, that was a pretty blunt insult.

bjork.com presale went very smoothly, and there were still decent floors seats left late in the day. The front four sections are being sold at "pit" GA.

Got my GA tickets yesterday. I like the Klaxons. It seems like no matter what people take an attitude against anything that NME promotes.

Although I wanted Antony or Joanna Newsom, I would very much enjoy the Klaxons. I like their album. Yeah, Pit GA!!

i should hate the klaxons more than i actually do. if they were american, id kill myself.

MSG sucks and I HATE the GA area at shows there. Yet, the seats that aren't GA are shitty to. Very cold and distant. Just a terrible venue. Radio City was the ideal situation

"Björk returns to North America this fall with a new series of performances. Highlighting the tour are headlining appearances at Toronto’s V Festival and Austin City Limits Music Festival as well as at a special Madison Square Garden event, featuring (to be announced later) guest performers." -bjork.com

Would be strange if the only opener was the Klaxons when they call this "a special Madison Square Garden event" with guest performerS tba.

Antony should open for her

I updated my wording in the post.

I hope they are just ONE of the opening acts and Antony can be included as the real deserving opener. Who else would sing those duets with her?

I agree that Klaxons are an odd choice. She often goes for more avant-garde acts like Matmos and Konono No 1. Then again, I'd rather see Klaxons than Spank Rock again (I haven't seen a full live Klaxons set yet, but I've seen enough of Spank Rock to last a lifetime).

Hopefully Antony will put in some kind of appearance, though.

Bjork at Union Palace and Klaxons at Pitchfork are two of my live highlights of the year so far so I reckon it's a pretty decent line up.

I'd have thought Antony turning up is pretty likely. His show at BAM was another highlight - it's been a pretty good year come to think of it.

The Garden is a great venue for bands that can handle it like The U2s,Stones,Bowies etc. I hope Bjork can pull it off. She will have to play longer than she did at Radio City though. Bands that open at The Garden usually have lousy sound due to no sound check, no presence and play to small crowds. Even a talent like Antony would get lost in the cavernous arena. A band like Klaxons will barely be noticed. Bad choice.

I would leave after the Klaxons.

she is so tiny, wonder if people that are anywhere but the floor will see her without watching the screens

MSG is by far the best arena in the US. You people are crazy. i agree with jjazznola, though you forgot to mention RADIOHEAD. I think she will pull it off just fine. United Palace is in my top 3 of nearly 500+ shows in my life.

I got GA pit

You've been to all of them?

Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2007 1:30 PM

klaxons are awful live.

I dig Klaxons' album very much. I am not surprised shw would choose them as openers. Their music is new (and good) to me.

I'd leave after the Klaxons too!

You'd really spend $90 to see the Klaxons?

Posted by Anonymous | July 20, 2007 10:00 AM

plenty of good seats available, so dont fret

If the Klaxons are opening for Bjork for all of her dates, then I would assume there is someone else that will come on stage with her. It is MSG, so I would expect it to be a great show.

Hopefully Klaxons play a smaller place while they're in town.
