McCarren Pool (CRED)

"That big empty cement pool in Greenpoint has become a landmark. The recently rejuvinated (but still dry) McCarren Park Pool was designated such by the Landmarks Preservation Commission yesterday (July 24) morning." [Gothamist]
This weekend's shows at McCarren Pool include Sonic Youth doing Daydream Nation, and TV on the Radio playing for free. Check out the video of the pool in 1983, if you haven't already.

They should do a combination- open it up as a pool again AND continue to have performances there.
How cool would it be if you had to come in your bathing suit and go into the water while a band was playing to see the show?

even cooler if a huge speaker fell in a electrocuted 3000 hipsters at once, instantly sending 1000 pairs of rayban wayfairers and 1000 pairs of those flat topped sunglasses exploding through the sky!!!
and no slip n slide. perhaps make like 1/4 of it a pool. thats a good idea right? everyones happy

it would be cool, but probably impossible with the insurance risks.

JellyNYC will be setting up shop in a kiddie pool set up in the park. They'll be using a one in one out door policy.
