Saw Mirah last night. I'm a total newbie to her music so I didn't recognize a single song, but most of the crowd was hanging on every word. Didn't realize it was such a lesbian crowd (again, newbie). She was funny though and told some stories. She played a few stanzas from some new songs about insects that's apparently coming out soon under a different name. She played a game where she had the crowd guess which insect she was singing about - still trying to figure out how the girl in front of me got the correct answer "Dung Beetle" for one of them. Encore was interesting - she did a couple of tunes from her remix album where she just sang vocals (which were great) and her drummer (I think?) did a sort of beatbox thing, couldn't see the keyboardist from my vantage point during encore so I'm not sure what she was up to. Anyway, it sounded pretty cool. Good show, respectful crowd. I heard Magnolia was good, but missed them.

Magnolia was two 12 year old (max) girls rocking out 1980s punk style. Can't say I've ever seen anything like it before.
