Morrissey postponing Baltimore & NJ shows too
oh no
Following last night's performance at the Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia Morrissey was seen by an ear, nose and throat specialist this morning in Washington, DC. The doctor confirmed that Morrissey was still suffering from a viral infection that had caused the postponement of several shows last week and that his throat had not healed. As a result he has ordered that Morrissey not sing again before the 7th of July at the earliest. Consequently in addition to tonight's show in Baltimore the scheduled concerts in Atlantic City at The Borgata on the 5th of July and Holmdel, New Jersey at PNC Arts Center on the 6th of July have been postponed. An announcement will be made as soon as possible as to whether it is possible to reschedule any of these shows and in the meantime ticket holders should maintain possession of their tickets. The tour is scheduled to recommence in Boston on the 7th of July at Bank Of America Pavillion.

This:
"An announcement will be made as soon as possible as to whether it is possible to reschedule any of these shows and in the meantime ticket holders should maintain possession of their tickets."
makes me doubt that these shows will be made up.
Go home, Morrissey. Feel better. And come back for a proper tour when your throat is up to snuff.

Geez, this tour should've been dubbed 'Morrissey's Meltdown Festival,' instead of 'Greatest Hits.'
Send in the clowns; don't bother, they're here.

I read a good review of his Wolf Trap show. Maybe he just overdid it before he was fully recovered.

I was at the Wolf Trap show (my umpteenth Morrissey show, first this tour) and I left feeling disappointed; however, my beef is with Jesse Tobias' mediocre guitar-playing. Morrissey's voice sounded fine last night.

Every night during the Daily Show/Colbert report for the last week I have been seeing LiveNation commercials saying tickets are still available for these (cancelled) shows... how much must that commercial time cost? Is this one reason tickets are so expensive, that these companies throw away money promoting non-shows?

All those commercials & billboards for Mozza's shows were part of the deal between he & Live Nation. They had to buy a certain amount of TV time, and do a set # off billboards as part of "talent fee".

Has anyone actually received an email from ticketmaster stating that this show has in fact been "postponed"? I have not, spam filter maybe but if not, that is weak... Good thing for Brooklyn Vegan!

If you go on ticketmaster now you will see PNC has been postponed and it says to retain tickets for a rescheduled show.

The remainder of the tour will be cancelled in the next 24 hours. You heard it here first.

Live Nation also emailed me asking for my opinion on the concert that never was.
Most infuriating thing ever.
