Parts & Labor needs a new drummer + record stream

We need a new drummer
Parts & Labor

After nearly three years of bashing, we're sad to report that our drummer, Christopher Weingarten, is leaving Parts & Labor. Chris is moving on to more rigorously pursue his work as a music editor and writer. He's the editor in chief at PaperThinWalls.com, and will soon be penning a book about Public Enemy's "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back" for the esteemed Thirty Three And A Third book series.

But so without further ado, we're searching for a new drummer. We're looking for someone who can tour a minimum of four months out of the year, starting this fall with trips in the UK/Europe as well as the U.S. They'll have some difficult shoes to fill. Tracks can be heard on our site and myspace, and the new record is streaming at virb.com/partsandlabor. Email us at partsandlabordrummer@gmail.com.

I'm actually leaving the band because I'm recovering from an injury incurred by a giant neon snake.

He was the best part of that band.

Will there be any more shows with Chris in NYC? At least one more, please?!

Posted by db | July 23, 2007 10:25 AM

From what I understand, another NYC show with me is possible but doubtful.

Also, Dave from Brooklyn Vegan and I have similar P.O. Boxes. So I currently have three packages with his name on it. No way he's getting them now, since he X'ed me out of that photo like a serial killer would ;)

But those packages include his protein!

That sucks, they really stepped up with their last album.

"Will there be any more shows with Chris in NYC? At least one more, please?!"

Yes please! I missed the last two shows because they were on the same bill as current buzz bands and the bandwagon hipster contigent was out in full force. I tried to get into their last NYC, but it was sold out due to Matt & Kim. Before that was Dan Deacon.

Please P&L, please NYC again without a buzz band!

P.S. If you really are Christopher (I doubt it), and do another NYC show, please don't play on Labor Day weekend. :)

Posted by Anonymous | July 23, 2007 11:22 AM

Why would be hard to believe someone who is leaving his band to run a music blog reads BV? :D

P&L have a big show booked at the end of Sept, so I doubt they'll be doing anything on Labor Day weekend.

They should follow Isaac Brock's example and ask Mike Joyce to join their band.

P and L opening for Les Savy Fav at Bowery record release show 9/22

Are P+L engaging a bright green snake to replace Chris? I might go see that. Or a pug. If Chris has to leave, then let him be replaced with a pug.

christopher weingarten is an awesome drummer, i could only hope for at least one more show!

please, Whiney?

I’m really diggin’ the new P&L record, but hopefully the new drummer leaves the double kick pedal and marching snare back in the mid-‘90s.

Is Christopher going to play the September 22 show? Purdy please?
