While Man Man was rocking the pool, Rodrigo y Gabriela were ripping it up over in Central Park....

This was the worst sounding sing-a-long ever from where I was standing. Half the people forgot the words and the other half were terrible singers. Still...lots of fun.

the singalong was really pathetic but it was a good afternoon all and all.

show of the summer...great time all around.

Yeah, I don't think RyG were too thrilled with the audience either... At one point I beleive he said something to the effect of, "did you all come here to see lionel Richie or something". But yeah, the sing along sucked...of course I was one of the ones with the terrible voices, but since no one was singing, I was forced.

"show of the summer...great time all around"
--just shaking my head over and over laughing at this comment. I mean seriously with the stripes show, the wilco warsaw show, hell even man man on the same day....what kind of idiot says something like this.
I know i know it is all subjective but this is taking it to an absolutely ridiculous level.

Rod y Gab were simply amazing yet again. They are without a doubt one of the best live bands around today. The addition of a distortion pedal to their playing has added another level of awesomeness.

"wish you were here" wasn't nearly as good as it was at webster hall... but the rest was great. I guess people were too stoned to remember pink floyd. seems kinda weird to me....

I loooooove their guitar playing. Classic and fresh at the same time.

Rod y Gab were great technically as usual, but the show lacked spark. I think more the fault of the crowd. Webster Hall show was simply unbelievable. Perhaps outdoors it lost a bit of oomph, and the crowd was a bit sun-lethargic (to be kind to them/us).
But hey, seeing such great musicians for free we can't complain, even if it wasn't the show of the summer.
Lovely day and a great day out, so thanks to Summerstage ... and Sn*pple
:p

It was amazing. I was all the way in the front, as close as you can be and in the middle so I didnt see the crowd too much. I thought it was just incredible. I liked the sing along.

"dude, if you think wilco is tops, then i think you should go back to yr room in the basement and whip out yr bong and grateful dead records."
Dude or should i say Jackass, Wilco played 2 shows last week that were both sold out and one of them is still being talked about by everyone. Yesterdays R&G show was fucking free and still not able to fill that place which isnt that big
Seems like you are actually the one smoking right now you damn fool. And im guessing from your idiotic statement that you dont even have a room to go to. Probably homeless and smelly

Definitely one of those homeless and smelly guys with internet access.

i thought they sounded repetitive... great musicianship, obviously - and certainly a show worth watching. great admission price too.

Yo, DD, in case you hadn't noticed, some places, such as libraries, offer free use of computers with Internet access. And before you smartassedly ask, "What library is open at 11:27 PM?" allow me to point out that this particular smelly, homeless guy may have posted from a different time zone.

"Wilco played 2 shows last week that were both sold out"
Britney Spears sold out Madison Square Garden, therefore by *your* logic, she is a better artist than Wilco.
"and one of them is still being talked about by everyone"
Still? Where? Give me proof.
Honestly, I don't care about either band, but the Wilco fanboys always make me laugh.
Posted by Anonymous | July 3, 2007 10:13 AM
Yeah dude, I actually completely forgot about libraries with free internet access. Touche -- fucking phenomenal point!!

Vietnam was lame. Cool sound until any one of them opens their mouth. They sounded like Adam Sandler with a sore throat.
RyG was great as usual. Definitely not the best show they've done, but it was certainly the crowd's fault. They could've started playing with their toes and it wouldn't have worked. I saw them at Coachella......much better show. I'd say 3 or 4th best of the festival for me.
DJ was pretty boring too.....but the big chick with the red hair on the side can move and made it all worth it.

Very likely the greatest performance in the history of performed music in the western hemisphere since 1525.

VietNam destroyed. People are idiots and listen with their eyes. Morons also can't figure out how to post a message without it posting three times.
