Slint performed Spiderland @ Pitchfork & Webster Hall

Slint @ Pitchfork Fest 2007 (CRED)
Slint @ the Pitchfork Festival

The performance of Spiderland was perfect. Every build up, every release was exactly how it was recorded seventeen years ago, but now it was immediate and on the stage in front of me. Although it was hard to finally put a face to the voice that whispers “I’m trying to find my way back home,” it was quite the way to open the festival. However, after they finished the last notes of “Good Morning Captain,” they slipped into what I am assuming is a new song that I wish had ended as soon as it began. [Perpetual Nervousness]
Last night (July 27, 2007), Slint did it at Webster Hall in NYC.

It was amazing. I've seen Slint 4 times now and this was probably my favorite of all four performances. Maybe because I wasn't beyond intoxicated.

The crowd was respectfully restrained. It was almost like being at a classical music performance. Spiderland is a classic, so I guess it fits.

Really amazing show. They played spiderland in order and then the untitled single. after that they wrapped it up with a new song that was more like a free form jam. I could have done without that last song.

Last song was called "King's Approach". Was apparently written during the Slint EP sessions. And was by far the best part of the entire show.

"Respectfully restrained"? Webster Hall??? Did you not hear the guy up front (behind me, that twat) screaming WHAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and RHODA!!!!!!! ? I was very close to fucking him up.

Was it really good? Their reunion show at Irving Plaza was somewhat boring.

I could hardly hear the vocals from where I was standing in the front right. :(
