Smashing Pumpkins - 2007 Tour Dates + Live Earth

I am your master

Live Earth is just a few days away. It will also be the first time the new Smashing Pumpkins play the NYC-area. If you're going, think about how you're getting there...

Audience travel accounts for the vast majority of a concert’s impact on our climate – as much as 50%! You can ANSWER THE CALL by taking public transportation or by carpooling with 4 or more people to Giants Stadium.
The NJ show also has Kanye West, Kelly Clarkson, The Police, Roger Waters, and Bon Jovi on the bill, and is not yet sold out. Can't be there? (or can't stand the thought of being there?) Watch it/them from home.

AND.... Smashing Pumpkins just announced a bunch more tour dates - still no NYC, but two in Philly, and a bunch of "TBA"'s....

There is an NYC date being finalized. My sources say it will be one night at either the Garden or Continental Airlines.

I just caught the Pumpkins in NC. They are fuckin ON. Playin songs from Gish/Siamese/Pisces/MellonCollie eras. Some good new songs too. Heavy and grand in a way that many modern bands pale in comparison.

hey ya the line:
"Audience travel accounts for the vast majority of a concert’s impact on our climate – as much as 50%!"
is very unintelligible indeed! Think of all the performers traveling the globe right now by means of airplanes, buses and vans etc. This has got to be a major dent in the crabon missions produced.....the entertainment industry is a big old sham preaching all this quasi-holiness and at the same time is a main stay whore for consumption.............................................keep on rocking in the expensive world
